Long-Term Outcomes in First-Episode Psychosis: Clinical Recovery and Treatment Resistance After 10 Years 🚨 A 10-year follow-up study of FEP patients revealed three distinct outcome groups: 1. Clinical Recovery (29%) 2. Treatment Resistance (31%) 3. Partial Recovery (40%). Early-course predictors of long-term outcomes include: 👉Insidious onset and baseline disorganised symptoms are linked to higher risk of treatment resistance. 👉Good premorbid academic adjustment and acute onset are associated with better chances of clinical recovery. Important 🚨🚨 “The use of clozapine in the study was low. ( 7% at 10 yr follow up) This is problematic in light of recent findings of a possible critical time window for initiating clozapine treatment and that delayed use may lead to poorer outcome Instead, a substantial number of TR patients may be exposed to unnecessary high doses of APs or polypharmacy approaches without a robust evidence-base. We find that a proportion of patients appear not to be treated according to guidelines constituting a clinical risk for the patients in question.” Paper 👉

@Mr_Jon_Lien Er det noe hold i ideen om «the welfare trap» der gode offentlige støtteordninger og det å motta ytelser hindrer insentiv til å jobbe? Eller er det en høyre-tanke? Og hva er rollen til duration dependence? Takk for meg
