aug 2022: got a random linkedin dm about a startup internship. didn’t know much about crypto, startups, or what i was signing up for. fast forward 2 yrs: i’ve been rugged by sleep, sanity, and free time—and it’s been the best ride. i would say "of my life" but i am only 21 and have not had my mid life crisis yet. started at omni as an ops intern knowing nothing about rollups, fragmentation, or why ppl won’t stop saying “gm.” in may 2025, i’ll be joining full-time as a marketer. still don’t know everything, but that’s the secret: you learn as you go. earlier, @grahamfergs + @0xMatt1 (bd legends) hit me with advice i’ll never forget: being the least experienced person in the room is one of the greatest oppurtunities you can have. i didn’t fully understand it at first. now? it makes total sense. when you’re surrounded by ppl operating at the highest level, you’re pushed to rise to their level—and that changes everything. that is when you grow the most as a person. was i intimidated? absolutely. still am, tbh. but that’s where the magic happens—growth doesn’t come from being comfy. crypto + startups demand your best every single day. this space is chaotic, intense, and not for the weak. but the growth, both personally and professionally? unmatched 2 yrs ago, i couldn’t tell you why ppl were trading pictures of dogs or what a memecoin even was. today, crypto is starting to feel like home (though i still can’t explain why frog tokens pump). what i do know: the ppl, the work, and the impact are unparalleled. completely. if you’re in crypto and feeling lost: keep. going. this space rewards the ones who stick around. yeah, it’s scary. yeah, you’ll feel lost at first. but the growth, opportunities, and ppl you'll meet make it so, so, so worth it. here’s to being “the least experienced person in the room”.
