Donald Tusk is the prime minister of Poland and Kaja Kallas is the prime minister of Estonia --two countries once dominated by the Soviet Union and are threatened by potential Russian expansionism today. So they truly understand the threat that Russia presents as well as anyone.

Of course, the next French elections aren't until 2027 and a lot can happen in four years to change this. Nevertheless, it's still disturbing that the two frontrunners are far right and far left.

They were more centrist presidents and there were more centrists in congress, much less polarized than today. Plus I like Rockefeller and Gore as vice presidents.
The center-right National Coalition Party will win Finland's parliamentary election, with the right-wing Finns party second and the Social Democrats third . Social Democratic prime minister Sanna Marin has conceded.

With the center-right National Coalition Party winning Finland's parliamentary election, I just hope they don't try to form a governing coalition with the far-right Finns party. A coalition with the Social Democrats would be far preferable to a coalition with the far right.
Congratulations to Finland for its admission to NATO. A step forward for the defense of Western democracy. Now, we need to get Sweden into NATO to strengthen those defenses even further.
