The majority of the GT300 class didn't run at all in the afternoon. Only 7 cars set a time. They must've deemed it too dangerous as a crash could mean missing Okayama. It seems likely that a race would get red flagged in those conditions anyway (remember Okayama 2019).

While the Honda NSX-GT was known for its high cornering speed, the shape of the air intake holes on the rear created a lot of drag. While the Civic Type R-GT doesn't produce as much downforce, the top speed deficit is gone, doing between 295-297 km/h – similar to Nissan.
