A simple answer— Story protocol is a purpose built layer-1 blockchain for IP and AI It was built primarily for IP and AI To explain in details: • Story protocol has a Programmable IP Layer: The programmable IP layer allows creators to define specific rules for licensing, remixing, and monetizing their IP directly on the blockchain. @StoryProtocol also introduces the programmable IP license The PIL is a legal off-chain document based on US copyright law created by the Story team. So the same rules and laws that applies to licensed IP offchain also applies to the licensed IP onchain This isn’t available on other blockchains. • IPFi Integration (THIS IS HUGE BTW): Story Protocol introduces IPFi, allowing you to use your IP as a collateral in DeFi protocols So you can basically register your IP as an onchain asset, stake your IP asset in IPFI protocols, lend your ip asset and borrow other ip assets, and many more This isn’t available on other blockchains. • ERC-6551 Standard Implementation: Story protocol implemented a modified version of the ERC-6551 standard, which links each IP asset to an IP account. This feature basically transforms NFTs into dynamic smart accounts, which isn’t supported on a few other blockchains. These are enough reasons why story protocol really stands out as the go-to place for creators looking to license and monetize their IP onchain.
