Just when you're wondering about ideas for summer reading, look what the postie brought today! 5 years in the making but - despite some truly bonkers times globally and personally - Retail & Community is finally here. @alix_green @GraceinWolves

Looking forward to joining @alix_green later today to reflect on what it means to take a 'local to global' view in rethinking narratives around the decline of the high street - and sharing the 50% discount code for our new book

@DrDaveOBrien Thanks. I'm still pleased with it after reading multiple rounds of proofs, which I'm taking as a good sign

@Claire_L_Jones One of the most enjoyable things I've been sent to read as a peer reviewer. Great to see it published!

What a fascinating paper! šŸ‘ Opened so many windows onto important questions about the relationship between public and private grief, whose anger is legitimate, and so much more. Heading home with a head full of thoughts.

I'm looking for something I read and half remember about the temporal lag in the welfare state / the endurance of poor law ideas so that changed policy didn't immediately mean changed experiences... thought it was Deborah Cohen but can't find - anyone know something similar?

@contbrithist @JuliaLaite @TricksterPrince @DrLauraKing @caitbeaumont @ihr_history Such an interesting discussion. Reminds me that I never really carried on thinking about dementia, memory and history after saying goodbye to my nan, who made such an impact on my first decade of doing history
