This is how I animate a basic run cycle.
ZEKE Run Cycle in 120 Secs PROCESS: Depending on the pace of the run, I usually animate a normal run in Twos. I animate generally in 25FPS. Also I went with straight ahead approach on this one. This is what my Stationary Walk Cycle Cloth Lighting and Rendering workflow Looks like. TIMELINE: 18 Minutes TOOLS: Maya, Vray RENDERING: A frame renders for 51 seconds, I rendered 400 frames PROCESS:PROCESS: It starts with an animated scene with all the animations done, cloth sim and other effects done. I use VRAY sky dome to add a bit of softness around the scene and also to create realistic reflections on the character. I added two a Rim light, key light and a fill light. I have a preset for rendering in Maya. How do you Light your scene in 3D?? PS: The full Video is about 18 minutes long, if you want me to upload it on YouTube, Please signify in the comment section. #3danimation #3d #art

This is what my Stationary Walk Cycle Cloth Sim Looks like. TIMELINE: 20 Minutes TOOLS: Maya, Ncloth PROCESS: It starts with an animated sequence, the sim-clothes are wrapped to the body. I applied Ncloth to the clothes and did a input attract to separate the part I want to sim and the part that shouldn't. I have an Ncloth preset for the cloth and short, this makes the process effective as I wouldn't be redoing the whole process anytime I need to sim this character, also I wanted the cloth sim to look as stylized as much as possible so i avoided as many folds as possible. Finally after sim, I exported the sim-clothes as alembic-cache, reimport it into animation scene once more, then wrap it with the original clothes (with more detail and the textures) How do you Sim your clothes in 3D?? PS: The full Video is about 15 minutes long, if you want me to upload it on YouTube, Please signify in the comment section.
