I recall that there is a concentration inequality for symmetric functions (functions which are invariant under a permutation of their inputs). It may also be called McDiarmid's inequality, though it is less famous then the one about bounded diffs. Does anyone have a reference?

@Yadkori I'm all for policy iteration, but a lot of folks on Twitter seem to think that they obtained a SOTA model using 100x less compute than OpenAI with just better RL algs. Also their papers do nothing to dispel this perception, asfaik

@AlexGDimakis There's no way to verify that they didn't just train on AIME24, right? I would be very wary of these "amazing breakthrough" sort of claims. I expect we will eventually find out that this model is cheating in one way or another.
