Dear all,
Just to let you know I've updated my Beginner's Guide below. I've added some extra advice especially a section with ideas on how to grow your followers if you want to.
If you know anyone who would benefit please RT so I can help as many people as possible. Ta! Gary
A matron in St Georges' Hospital interviewed on BBC News tonight, when asked "How are you doing?" walks away without response, obviously distressed.
We are asking too much.
@BorisJohnson
, this is on you.
If only you had any sense of shame.
Sick of people saying "I scraped ice off the window and itdid me no harm".
I grew up in a home with one gas fire in the lounge. Other rooms freezing. One warm room in winter when my parents had money for the meter.
Yes I survived, but why would anyone wish that on anyone else?
My youngest has just tested positive for CV-19. “I feel like I have been hit by a bus, and breathing is painful”. Please take every precaution folks. This is not a drill....
Shame on Fiona Bruce. Asks how "Beergate" was different to Downing Street parties.
One took place when gatherings were legal. The multiple others were when it wasn't. You are not a great journalist Fiona.
The Dorset Bibby Stockholm barge can't be used at present because the Fire Service won't approve it for fire safety.
The incompetence of this government is endless.
Looking at the comments made recently by Roger Daltrey, I can't help but feel that he has become the kind of person The Who were rebelling against in the 1960s.
I have to say I am concerned about Nazanin's husband.
Complete failure again from
@trussliz
and
@BorisJohnson
. Shame on you both.
I hope that Gabriella does not lose a father too.
Interesting caller to
@LBC
re the Dorset barge.
He's a former prison officer who will "look after" the asylum seekers. Many of his colleagues have also been prison officers.
He has been on the boat and says that many areas are currently unusable. 1/2
Nick Ferrari talking about Farage defends him saying "many people say he is racist and xenophobic, but in his defence I should point out that he was a very popular politician ".
Quite irrelevant. If he is racist and xenophobic his alleged popularity changes nothing.
I have tweeted on this already, but am so angry I return to it. How can you be so shallow that you treat the unjust suffering of a nation as a photo opportunity?
Perhaps Truss could do her job as Foreign Secretary, and tell us about retaliatory measures instead.
Conservative donor & peer Lord Bamford could face a £500 million, yes £500 million bill to settle an HMRC tax enquiry. But Angela Raynor may, just may & probably not owe £1,500.
Jenrick under pressure from Andrew Castle to back a claim that Starmer is being advised by a leftie lawyer on immigration.
Challenged to name who this is, Jenrick claims it's in a Sun article he wrote today.
Castle reads the article during the ad break. No name. Jenrick lies.
My dad is back in hospital and having emergency surgery tomorrow.
Amazing that the surgeons will operate on a man who is nearly 89, to keep him alive.
We must cherish the NHS.
26 years ago, at about this time, I received a frantic call from my dad. My mum had unexpectedly died of a heart attack while he was making a cuppa.
This is a virtual hug to anyone reading this, for whom Christmas is also associated with the loss of someone near and dear.
Claire Fox on

argues that the ECHR enables unelected judiciaries to rule on UK laws. We are part of the Commission and have a say.
Utter nonsense.
Shock horror leaflet just stuck through our door, claiming that Sadiq Khan is planning pay per mile in London. Encourages you to scan a QR code if you oppose.
No obvious branding, but reading the small print, it's produced on behalf of Susan Hall.
Poor, even by her standards.
One issue is that the government has brought in workmen (without proper security checks) to do last minute botched modifications to the interior.
In short, a typical Tory sh*t show putting ideology above spending money sensibly and coming up with a viable solution. /End.
Farage in a video just now claims that broadcasters like James O'Brien calling them
#FarageRiots
, is inciting violence and putting HIM at increased risk.
Breath-taking...
I have seen multiple stuff tonight suggesting that food banks are asking for stuff that does not require cooking, as many can no longer pay for the energy to do so.
If you can adjust your donations please do.
Boozo and Co., I will never forget.
Please RT
Johnny Mercer criticises the age of the new 25 year old MP in Selby.
He seems to have nothing to say about the 29 year old that Boozo just put in the Lords.
Hypocrisy.
For any Tory to write this, particularly after the last 5 years in government, shows a breath-taking lack of self awareness, or utterly shameless hypocrisy.
Take your pick...
Andrew Bridgen writes in tomorrow's Express that the Labour university expansion some years ago is the cause of today's lorry driver shortage.
Everything you need to know about the Tories.
"If only they had known their station"...
I think I will drive my wife and son to the beach tomorrow.
He's 33 years old, but I am worried about his child care (you never stop being a responsible father).
My instinct tells me it's the right thing to do...
May not be popular, but I see that the nation has been put into "a period of mourning" that will last "up to 30 days".
I have every sympathy about the death of Prince Philip, but the idea that I will mourn for 30 days is archaic and absurd.
Just seen a tweet by Sophie Corcoran which begins...
"I’ve been doing a lot of thinking over the past few weeks".
Possibly the most inaccurate opening sentence in recorded history.
I think many of us agree that the term "junior doctors" is inaccurate and demeaning, (and forget about "doctors in training" or "apprentices").
I was trying to think of a better term.
I came up with "core doctors" in view of their key roles in hospitals.
Any better ideas?
Telegraph reporter asks Boozo about his message to Remainers.
"Most people on either side just want to move on".
Not this person...and I am sure I am not the only one.
Andrew Neil is saying that people with
#FBPE
and/ or 3.5% in their profiles are not allowed to watch GB News.
As if I needed an excuse to not watch it.
Savid Javid has claimed that he opened a new hospital today.
It's actually a new extension to an existing hospital.
It's almost as if the Tories are inveterate liars.
I have just spent time individually writing to many German friends and colleagues befriended over the years, apologising for the Leave dot EU post today. Let me extend this to those with German roots who follow me on Twitter. I utterly reject this hateful message. Not in my name.
Just received an email saying that my last free prescription has been dispatched before I have to start paying again until I am 66.
Massive energy cost rise, increases on food, etc.
@RishiSunak
,
@BorisJohnson
I will not forget when it come to voting.
Andrea Jenkyns has posted an anecdote she claims to have heard from a black cab driver today, saying that Lisa Nandy once took a ride while very drunk, potentially breaking lockdown rules.
Imagine posting this hearsay years after the event, and tagging in the Met?
Classy...
Kuennsberg on Panorama right now, sneering at the Labour government, trying to suggest that Labour are overdoing their claims about how bad things really are.
So transparent and partial in her implied sneering...
It's interesting how many MPs such as 30p, Gullis et al appear to have become born-again Christians this Easter.
Rees-Mogg must feel irritated by this encroachment on his hallmark hypocrisy.
I have seen one or two tweets about boycotting Yorkshire Tea.
I understand the idea of boycotting companies that overtly support Brexit/ the Tories, but AFAIK this company had no say in Rishi Sunak choosing to feature them in his photo opportunity.
Let's keep perspective folks.

.
Oakeshott ends the programme by suggesting that we have more than enough workers to meet the labour shortages, but that Tory taxation makes living on benefits so attractive.
I guess she has never been on UC.
BREAKING:
Sir Patrick Vallance, the former chief scientific adviser, becomes a minister in the department for science, innovation and technology
Vallance backed Labour’s green energy plan during the election campaign
I wish Boozo would stop referring to people who have received 1 dose as "vaccinated".
They have been partially vaccinated.
The Civil Service tweet about "truth twisters" remains just as relevant.
My energy company (Octopus) has just emailed about price rises next month.
The email seems to be cleverly worded to imply that Ofgen are responsible, citing the raising of the price cap.
It's a cap Octopus. You are not obliged to put your prices up. You are not fooling anyone.
I've seen two "contributions" today by Julia Hate-Spewer.
I'm not RTing them, but in the first she describes her political views as "Centrist" (really), and in the second she talks about "my fellow journalists".
The self-delusion is strong in this one...
Shortish thread. Michelle Mone "documentary".
I forced myself to watch the whole thing. It was hard work, but here are some reflections.
1. I hope that Mark Wilson-Thomas was paid well as I'm not convinced his reputation as an investigative reporter will be enhanced. 1/8
Tice, being interviewed after the Speech, is asked how Reform will have influence Parliament with only 5 MPs.
His first words were "By being in the Chamber a lot".
No sense of irony.
Has anyone mentioned it to Nigel?
On behalf of many, I just wanted to say a massive "thank you" to all who organised and attended today's "Take Back Democracy" demo in Parliament Square today.
Great energy, humour and creativity.
Heroes and heroines every one...
Thanks again...
Our local Amazon drivers appear to have given up knocking on the door.
My wife just had a package delivered. No knock, but an email sent with a photo of the box hidden in the porch.
I am sat 4 metres from the front door. No knock and our doorbell works.
'Why are we wasting £100 million on buck passing and arse covering, instead of looking at the pandemic response?'
@RachelSJohnson condemns the Covid inquiry for neglecting to ask the 'basic' questions.
Stating the obvious.
The strategy is flawed however.
I am a "Saga voter" but there is no way I would vote Tory.
It's only the nastiest Saga voters he will get.
Trying to close my late dad's energy account. Just had a final account from
@OVOEnergy
claiming he owes £700+when he is on a prepayment meter. Phone line wait horrific.
Thanks a bundle
@OVOEnergy
.
Total vultures.
Wes Streeting to Braverman.
"You said we need to follow security advice. Why did Lebedev get appointed to the HoL in the face of advice he was a security risk?".
Arron Banks, commenting on a tweet by Richard Tice:
"This is an awful deal for the UK but it moves Brexit on and leaves the Conservative party in a very strong position to win an historic majority."
So that's ok then. Bad for the UK, but good for a special interest group.
Dear
@BBCNews
.
Was there a farmers' protest today? Only I haven't seen any report of it?
It would be terrible if people began to doubt your impartiality...
Mrs G was diagnosed with a detached retina yesterday.
Operation completed today.
The NHS still performs amazing feats despite all the constraints it is under.
No thanks to the Tories. We must preserve the NHS at all costs.
'You can't be bothered because you do not think my name is worth saying - and why is that Jonathan?'
In this impassioned debate following the migrant evacuation of the Bibby Stockholm, @SangitaMyska shuts down this caller after he refuses to pronounce her name correctly.
