This is a good point which most people miss. USAID is not only a helpful organization, it’s how the US develops relationships and maintains partnership all around the world. You can basically expect influence in South America, Africa and Oceania to be owned by China for the next decade if funding isn’t restored. The reason governments aren’t run like tech startups or by everyday consumers, is because the RoI of political relationships can be measured in decades, but the payoffs are staggering and the opportunity cost when lost, can be nation ending.
