There really is nothing like a Keystone meeting 👌 Hope to see you there!
In just two months, we'll be attending the upcoming @KeystoneSymp tumour metabolism meeting in beautiful Vancouver. Be sure to say hi to @gabe__brewer! #KSTumorMetab25

Though the microbiome’s role in cancer is still under debate, I lead this collection to showcase the insights that current research has provided us about its functional impact on cancer. Check it out!
🚨New collection: The microbiome in cancer 🦠🦠🦠 Here we present a selection of research, review, news & opinion articles from @SpringerNature journals, to highlight what is known about the role of the gut and tumour microbiomes in cancer. 📖🦠👇

Check out our latest Tools of the Trade from @SiyuHe7 on Starfysh! It uses deep learning, archetypal analysis of H&E and known cell markers to identify tissue-specific cell states, without single-cell reference data. Super interesting stuff!! 🤓
In case you missed it: In this Tools of the Trade, Siyu He describes the development of Starfysh, a computational tool to integrate histology of complex tissues in spatial transcriptomic data analysis to characterize cell states.

@andrei_thomas_t @NatureRevCancer It was a pleasure working directly with you and @OlgaAnczukow during this. I'm very happy to see it online! Congrats🙂

Here is another review that I'm suuuper excited to see online! This one summarizes the role of local + systemic immunity in metabolic disorders & the associated cancers. I'm particularly interested in how the ⬆️ing use of metabolism altering drugs (Ozempic 👀) will impact this.
Metabolic disorders including obesity, #MASLD, #MASH & #type2diabetes are recognized as contributors to cancer. Toronto, @djkloosterman & @LeilaAkkari1 (@NKI_nl) explore the influence of macrophages + T cells in metabolic-disorder associated cancers.👇

It's always fun working on Reviews with topics that align with my studies🤓 This one examines emerging and diverse roles for compressive stresses in solid tumours and the potential for targeting it. Wish I'd been able to read it during my PhD!!

CRISPR screens are invaluable tools for cancer research, yet standard cell cultures fail to mimic the metabolic complexity of tissues. Here, Zuber & Palm connect these key ideas to highlight how modelling tumour-associated metabolism could enhance screen utility & cancer biology.
#CRISPRscreens are useful for functionally annotating the genome + identifying cancer dependencies. In this Comment, @Johannes_zuber & @WilhelmPalm explore how modeling metabolic conditions in screens can improve cancer biology insights.🧬🧫

Oh em gee. I thought I'd mixed up dates when I wrote this tweet.. but it really is October tomorrow 🐈⬛😱 In any case, there are lots of goodies in our latest issue, so happy reading! (And Happy October! 🥲)
Our October issue is live! 🍂🎃👻 It features articles on: - Drug-tolerant persister cells (a #Roadmap) - Targeting the tumour vasculature - #CAF-induced physical constraints controlling T cell state + location - The evolutionary theory of cancer 📖👉
