@g4wam A mixture CW ssb ft4 ft8. This morning called Cq and had 20 min chats with two VKs one running 30w. Now my focus has changed to ssb, my CW is passable but slow. This morning it seemed easier to work VK on phone than ft8. All good fun, wind stopped play again..

@Johnsontechword Amateur radio certainly educated us in many ways demonstrated by your serendipitous find!

@G0MOH_Rob I'm not quite sure my station is good enough or moreover, desirable enough..but, you are right. It's a great band, propagation is interesting.

@Mike__happy @g4cch I think it's an individual thing. As long as the user enjoys and learns that's the point. Obviously one cannot compare an ft8 dxcc with a ssb or CW dxcc in terms of difficulty. It's more of an issue for the award body, ARRL, etc.

@Mike__happy You are right dxcc isn't what it was! I'll never apply for the award, it's just a nice target. FT8 is an excellent propagation indicator and certainly has it's place. I'm picking quite a few off on ssb and CW I've never seen on FT8 so all good fun.
