It turns out the developer was using stolen pixel art from various artists on dA at the time and just so happened to use one of my pieces as the icon for the app.

A thread of stuff I've learned from taking comms over the years:
- communication is key. If you can't finish the comm in time, tell your client. More often than not people will be willing to wait as long as you tell them what's going on.
