I made a new pinned tweet for everyone to look at. Funrama is my ongoing creator-owned series, read it first on Buy back issues: Commissions info: Portfolio:
Have a wonderful day.
Since you all repost the Batman AI comic, can you repost my comic FUNRAMA? I’ve been drawing it by hand with pens and brushes for 13 years and i struggle to get anyone to notice. Thank you.
Let me tell my story. When I realized I was never going to get a call from DC/Marvel editors, at first I got depressed, then I got angry, then I cried, then I felt pity, then bitterness, then I attended therapy, and THEN I created my OWN comic. New Funrama posted on the Pat reon.
Finally finished drawing all 4449 pages of my current ongoing life. Widespread respect and admiration in the comics industry should be coming any minute now.
Hooray, another commission done. Sandman. Gray ink on paper. I'll probably be sick of commissions in a few months, so if any one needs a book drawn, please consider me. Paying work only, please. Thanks!
Instead of making an NFT, I decided to do this drawing with my pens and paper. I put it up on eBay in a 3-day auction so I could put food on my table and oil for my lamps and maybe a licorice stick. Thanks.
Everyone knows I love GI Joe, and so did Jeffrey Veregge. I banged out this color piece of Spirit and I put it on eBay. All the money from this auction (minus fees, tax, and shipping) with be donated to Jeffrey's family. Reposts appreciated. Thank you.
Writers make large sacrifices to make indie creator-owned books happen. I think all the writers I've worked with have paid themselves nothing or close to nothing to actually produce the book. Not sure I'm supposed to say that but I think it's well-understood comic book economics
Often when I do a commission, I question it's quality, and my self-worth as an artist, then I shelf the drawing and start over. So, there are TWO versions of many pieces I do. This Big Barda/Mr. Miracle is one. I'll be putting this in one of the mystery boxes I'm selling. Thanks
I'm guessing some of you, based on history, are looking at the creators raising their voices on abuse as noisy, unhireable troublemakers, while viewing the less-vocal creators as the serious, grown-up professionals. You're totally wrong. Flip that.
Auctioning off this Storm I just did. 11 X 17. 100% will be donated to The Minnesota Prison Doula Project and

I kinda quit comic conventions in 2015. Sit in a chair and have 8 people visit my table over 4 days and go back to a $200 hotel room and cry? No, Im ok. Twitter is free and I come here every day to be sad and ignored.
Just think...Only $70 buys you one of these! I have 3 kids. They eat a lot of food. Just one commission buys food for ONE of my kids for ONE day! Commissions:
Pencils for STRONGHOLD. Please Retweet this book. It's me. It's Phil Hester. It's a creator-owned book. Creator-owned books need that extra little juice called word-of-mouth. You're going to like this, I swear. I'm drawing backgrounds all night for this book. First issue FEB. 20
I'll side with Jae Lee over egotistical twitter theatrics on this one. There are artists (shocking I know) who are mostly unplugged and taking whatever job comes their way. "He should have known!" Some artists don't live on the internet. There's a world outside of Twitter/youtube
Banged out this Rogue sketch for a patron. I'm so thankful I can draw for people. I'm very lucky. Things are so insane in the industry right now, I just want to go and make my dumb little comic and sketch for fans.
Whoa, I guess they announced it at NYCC. I'm drawing the next STRANGER THINGS series.
@Jody_Houser
writes it. And the script is HOT. I hope I do a good job! Dark Horse Comics. In January 2020.
Well that's it. Got a "pencils down" call today. Add me to the unemployed pile. I'm now officially 100% commissions. I'm also a father of 3, so if anyone has work, let me know. I work for money only. Thanks.

Rocketeer color commission. I never know what to do with this guy when I get a request. Guy flying through clouds with gun is all I can ever come up with. I should try to be creative some day.
Finished this Nightwing commission. What's sad is that the sky is filled with this luxurious orange on the original, but the scanner just isn't giving it to me.
I'm ultimately not telling you what to do, but, if you can, please spend money at your local comic shop and not Amazon this Christmas. Please and thanks.
I hope you're sitting down to read what I'm about to say. But I often hire inkers and colorists and I pay them right away. Like, right away. If I don't have the money to pay people, I just don't hire anyone. Because that would just cause trouble.
Wow, I hit 6,000 Followers. Thanks everyone. Only took me about 7 years to go from 5K to 6K.😂Here's a look at the rough layout before inks. Sadly, my layouts have a lot of natural energy and flow that gets lost in the Finish. Over-rendering is bad, yet I still fall for it 🤷♂️
My first ever full Marvel comic...Neat! The 30-page Marvels Snapshots: Civil War is in stores today. Alex Ross cover. Thanks to

and
@KurtBusiek
for the collaboration.
Here's another color sketch I've finished and shipping off to a longtime Patr eon member. Death (Sandman). Thank you for the support helping me pay the bills.
Hey! I'm looking for a job in 2020. If anyone needs a book drawn, please consider Ryan Kelly. Sidebar: I don't work for free (Sorry!). Here's my portfolio. I've drawn lots of books. I could draw for YOU.
I didn't sell very well at the con last weekend and I'll just go ahead and say it......I need money. So, I put this Black Canary sketch on e Bay. I'll be posting another fishnets wearing character as well.
News. Jody Houser on script. Colors by Jordie Bellaire. Otsmane-Elhaou Letters. Happy to bring the first installment of Robin Hobbs' Farseer Trilogy to life. Assassin's Apprentice

To any badass try-hard comic artist declaring they are going to take all our jobs in 3 years. Go ahead! Go be a rock star at DC. Climb that ladder. Someone has to do it. I'm fine over here. I make a comic about a guy with cactus arms.
Here's the first of many color sketches I'm doing for patrons who've stuck around for 12 months. Rogue, Savage Land version. Thanks for supporting me and Funrama, the ongoing series.
Working on a Storm piece this morning because I love the X-Men and I love Storm. I’m going to auction this art on twitter later. 100% will go to a BLM charity. Thanks!
It took me 10 years, but I've completed 5 issues of FUNRAMA. Not many read it and it flies under the radar, but I'm proud of the work so far. If you're passionate about your comic and it makes you feel good, keep on it.
I'm really lucky to be working with Phil Hester. My career may have hit full-circle and this is it. I hope you'll check out STRONGHOLD in February. This is going to be a great book. I'll do my best art, I promise.
I'm still looking for a job in 2020 if anyone needs a book drawn. funrama

Thanks! Pencils and inks by me:
If Jason Latour wasn't getting the heat yesterday, he would be retweeting this and all the usual prominent twitter people would be thanking him for his heroism. That's the point, that's the problem.
I'm the father of a trans daughter. She's awesome and would probably hate this post. She just wants to do her thing and I just want to be a good father. Pretty basic. That's it, that's my statement.
