If you are sequencing Omicron (B.1.1.529) COVID genomes with the “Midnight” panel (e.g. using @nanopore) it looks like there might be one region that is dropping out, based on the sequences submitted to GISAID (N=68). Potential quick fix 🧵 (work with @osilander)

@CostallJess @pollenkat 5 out of 10 Molecular Biology/Genetics academic staff at Massey Albany left in 2020/2021 (myself included) due to the restructure then. If they remove any more, it will likely collapse, in my opinion.

Can’t count the number of times we’ve asked for bus lanes here. Buses are the quickest way to clear people out of the city. We need uninterrupted priority for people now and in these circumstances. There’s always a push to “wait for the city centre bus plan rollout”.
