As part of our Remembrance Day commemorations, each tutor group created a poppy wreath. We gathered together to lay these in our school garden this morning, and to pay our respects. “At the going down of the sun and in the morning/We will remember them.”

Our newly-formed Surf Club had a fantastic first outing last night to Tynemouth led by Mr Knights. They've been preparing in school with surf fitness sessions, which obviously paid off as most students managed to stand up in the water on their first lesson - an impressive feat!

National Citizen Service (NCS) has awarded ‘Champion’ status to Framwellgate School Durham for its great commitment to working alongside NCS to build awareness of the NCS programme and having exceeded expectations in promoting the programme and recruiting students to take part.

Our staff have had a fantastic day welcoming some very smart, polite & passionate yr7 students into school today. There might have been a few tears at the beginning of the day (mostly parents) but there were many happy smiles and new friends made by the end. 😃

Every year we ask staff to consider donating to a local foodbank with the money that they would have spent on Christmas cards. This year we are doing the same, but instead of the food items going to a local foodbank we intend to make food parcels up for our students'

New Headteacher for September 2024.
Following a rigorous process the Trust Board have appointed Michael Wright, currently Deputy Headteacher at Durham Johnston School, as Headteacher at Framwellgate School Durham. He will take up appointment in September 2024.
