5/ We are also collaborating with @blowfishxyz to introduce a more advanced phishing warning system today. When spam NFTs trick users into using a misleading site, we issue a warning on any malicious transactions that could compromise their assets or permissions.

@rebeccagund @mrhack636 It used to be the case that permissions applied to Phantom in general, but we changed it so that permissions are per address a few versions ago. Basically if you trust a dApp or enable auto-approve it’s per address. At the smart contract level it’s always going to be per address.

Last week, we published a thread detailing our discovery of the new "bitflip" attack method in the wild. Since then, we've been working very closely with @phantom to stop these scams. Judging by the response from the drainer community, it appears we've been rather successful!

When it comes to transaction approval, what many wallets tell their users today is: "don't trust, verify". This boils down to: "here is all the information, good luck". With @blowfishxyz , @phantom is able to do transaction verification at scale, so you don't have to.

This was a heroic effort by @jozanza @amriunix and @LaamiaI. We had to jump through some crazy hoops to get here. As far as we can tell, we are the least vulnerable in the industry – which demonstrates how seriously we take security @phantom.
1/ As of April 2022, Phantom users are protected from the "Demonic" critical vulnerability in crypto browser extensions. Another exhaustive patch is rolling out next week that we believe will make @Phantom the safest from "Demonic" in the industry.

You can make Phantom snappy again by disabling and re-enabling the extension. You'll have to re-enter your password, but this won't reset your wallet in any way. How to disable/enable the.

If something looks fishy with the domain or website you're visiting, such as looking similar to a popular NFT project, or trying to obfuscate code, you get a big warning. Interacting with suspicious tokens? You get a warning.

Basically, instead of using a hard-coded list of blocked domains, we now do a ton of rule-based checks on the domain, website, transaction, and tokens being interacted with – proactively, without anyone having to report anything.
