@acnewsitics @PaulNiland Three weeks ago, @JDVance took this oath: "I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States" The Constitution stipulates that the President cannot make or interpret laws, or decide how federal money will be spent. This is black letter law.

@acnewsitics @PaulNiland @JDVance sounds increasingly like one of those crazy trailer-dwelling *sovereign citizens* yelling "your laws don't apply to me! Your system is oppressive and illegitimate!"

@JDVance If a general broke the law in a military setting, there are laws to constrain & punish that. If an AG used illegal means to pursue a prosecution, there are laws to constrain or mitigate that in the accused's defense. These matters are common, and uncontroversial. But DJT?

@JDVance Yale, you say? Judges do not control the executive's power. Laws do. Judges are required to interpret and apply laws that have been duly enacted. You have a problem with that, change the laws. Meanwhile, fulfil your oath, you puppy.

@acnewsitics @PaulNiland Does he even understand the concept of "illegal"? I mean, the word kind of implies actual written law. Which, I have read lately, there's a lot of.

@johnsweeneyroar Your intentions are good but your methods, and your commentary, are execrable. Kneller is not responsible for reviews. That is the purview of the 12 Commissioners. Which of those Commissioners are you alleging will not consider the Letby referral in good faith?

@RupertLowe10 @Keir_Starmer 66 flights all year. The Labour government was elected in July. Kinda puts it in perspective, eh?

Dutton's great promise of a cheap fast nuclear future for Australia is a feint, a mirage, a fraud. #nuclearisacon

Despite French firm EDF’s assurances Sizewell would be a carbon copy of the ongoing Hinkley Point C project, and that major savings in time and cost would result accordingly, it has persuaded ministers that £8bn of public money is required up front merely to help it reach a Sizewell decision. Meanwhile, French auditors advise against proceeding with Sizewell until Hinkley’s issues are resolved. With Hinkley over budget and EDF seeking additional funds, there are suspicions some "Sizewell" money is being redirected. As Labour backtracks on binding green targets and prioritises economic growth, calls are growing for Ed Miliband to freeze further Sizewell funding until EDF commits. Full story online and in the latest issue:

@DoctorKarl The table "does not" indicate that a normal, vaccinated person is x.xx% more likely to sustain any of the conditions. It is a ratio of the "expected" occurrence (extremely rare) to the "observed" occurrence ( still extremely rare).

@Katebfitz @PhillipAdams_1 I love the story that for centuries after Pope Joan, upon election as Pope, the lucky pontiff had to sit naked on a seat with a hole in it, underneath which a cardinal would reach up and declare "Duos habet et bene pendentes", or "He has two, and they dangle nicely".

@JStein_WaPo @elonmusk Multipliers abound. If a Musk "TreasuryX" became the default platform for Federal grants/payments/receipts, every agency, every recipient, every contractor, even state admins, would also be forced to adopt it as their payment platform.
