Hi everyone for the Spooky ARASHI Hour, thanks so much for tuning in today. You have made my October great! I can't thank you enough. I will transition into my Sydney timezone programming, but I'll open it with Monster! Have a great Halloween, and keep listening if you want! IJ
Hi Spooky ARASHI Hour listeners. I am away from my computer tonight and tomorrow night - but ARASHI songs are still programmed in to play: One ARASHI song - then one Halloween song. I'm sorry about this! I'm back properly on Monday and I'll include current song requests.
Thanks again everyone for listening to the 'Spooky ARASHI Hour'. It was awesome! Thank you everyone who sent in a song request - and again - I missed a few tonight, but I've marked them down to play tomorrow.
Today on
@fotwradio
is Sho Sakurai's Birthday celebration - plus songs by Travis Japan, King & Prince, Tomohisa Yamashita, Hall and Oates, D:Ream, Billy Joel and Black Eyed Peas
#internetradio
#summerprogramming
Thank you everyone for listening tonight! I won't really be able to respond to song requests after this, as I will be focusing on getting ready for Halloween night on Monday! But Spooky ARASHI Hour can still be heard.

Tomorrow night we will celebrate the birthday of Sho Sakurai, with a movie night special featuring music from his movies! Tune in to
@fotwradio
from 4-6pm JST / 6-8pm AEST depending where you live, and join the fun 🎉 Thanks to
@milk5treasure02
for the wonderful flyer graphic 📽️
One of the listeners りーちゃん asked me to share what ARASHI songs I like. Starlight Kiss is one that I like: it's romantic, has a simple song structure and a kind of disco era melody, that I always find uplifting.
I've gone into a second hour for the Spooky ARASHI Hour - as I will be away over the weekend for the usual hour - and it will be on autopilot! So, hopefully I've played a lot of song requests! Thanks everyone for listening, and enjoying the space theme.
Thanks everyone for joining in today to help the ARASHI fans celebrate the 25th anniversary of their favourite band forming back in 1999! 🥳 Congratulations from
@fotwradio
too 🎃📻 #嵐結成25周年
Thanks everyone for listening today to the Spooky ARASHI Hour. I've gone into overtime with a couple 'encore' songs. Thanks so much for your support! I'm still working through the requests.

This was a new experience for me - being interviewed and translated into Japanese! Thanks very much Ri-chan and the Japanese listeners for the opportunity to talk about ARASHI. Music is a big part of my life, and I always enjoy getting the chance to talk about it.
Thanks everyone for listening, this is the last song for Satoshi Ohno's birthday coming up. I hope you all had a great time - and thanks to Megumi for organising it.
You've probably noticed the new graphics on the
@fotwradio
website! It was designed by Zhenya Artemjev who specialises in 'kawaii' graphics!
@lykIt8n8eYKQNmO
did the translation for me! 🎃📻
#halloweenlisteningparty
is turning 10 in October.
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes - that has made it a special birthday this year for me, along with a full moon and a early Halloween party with my family
#HBD_IJ
Thanks everone, I hope you had a good early celebration for Nino's birthday tomorrow -- and also 'Ravers Day'! I won't be around tomorrow, so it will be the autopilot 👻taking charge of the controls. I hope he makes some good choices!
Thank you every one from Japan for listening to this special ARASHI edition of the "Halloween Assortments" hour. This is the last song now "In - the - Room"!
@e6_osanm
It's hard to say, but I feel that way too, I've become very attached to you and the other Japanese listeners. The Arashi music is very emotional, and I often find that it is going through my head, when I'm just doing my normal day things, and I have to stop and think what it is!
Coming up on Friday 20th through to Thursday 26, a celebration for our Japanese listeners of the songs of Sho Sakurai. The details are below, which you can click through and hit Google Translate, if you want to read them in English. Thanks
@aomame_fordream
Thanks again everyone for listening, this is the last song for tonight! A few requests I couldn't get to play, but I remember which ones I missed. Enjoy your Friday night and have a great weekend!
The Sho Sakurai Movie Night Special will repeat today (Sun 28) 4-6 pm JST / 6-8 pm AEST. I'm sorry that it didn't air yesterday like planned - but today I am at the controls, and can make sure that it works! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing what I've been playing during the Spooky ARASHI Hour! Anyone who wants to check what ARASHI songs played during the hour, can see these playlists.
@lykIt8n8eYKQNmO
Yes, I think Hatena recommended it to me - and I watched it over a couple of nights last week. It made me understand more about Arashi, and why they are so important to the Japanese listeners; it also gave me a big insight (I think) into Japanese culture.
Thanks everyone for listening, see you tomorrow night for the Christmas Eve broadcast, with special Masaki Aiba birthday music on

My speaker cone has that iconic yellow that I sit with almost every day, doing editing work. But it's also how I listen to

when programming songs at my desk.

Thanks everyone for listening to this year's Halloween Listening Party on FOTW Radio. Thanks for all the song requests, love and support, which helped to make it a lot of fun. I'll see you all again next year! IJ.
@aomame_fordream
I had heard of them but was not familiar with their individual songs, as I used to work in a music library at a radio station that has a 'Pop Asia' show, so ARASHI CDs were on the shelf. But all of you have educated me!
Thanks everyone for listening tonight! I hope you don't mind me ending the show with this guy! Look forward to seeing you tomorrow for the big night! 🎃🎵

As one of the ways to support ARASHI, we have created a page on our website to introduce your radio program!
Sorry, only in Japanese.

The Halloween channel is running on auto-pilot now - but I have set up this hour (which was previously "Spooky ARASHI Hour") to randomly choose 4 J-Pop songs to play during that hour. It will stay like this until next October!
Happy birthday to Ken Miyake! And thanks to all the listeners who sent in requests! I enjoy playing his music on the show - his instrumentation also has a kind of chillwave flavour that I like! 🎂
Thanks everyone again for listening - I'll play a couple more songs - and then that will be the end of the show for today!

Coming up soon, the Spooky ARASHI Hour . . . specially requested pop songs from Japan; many with a dark romantic theme, with spooky songs in between! 🎌🎃🎵📡🌏👻
This is the third and final part of the interview on the
@TeamARASHI2020
blog. I get to talk here mainly about programming
@fotwradio
and how special languages are!
Thanks everyone for listening. I hope you all have a great Christmas tomorrow. Thanks to Ree and everyone else who helped me put together a song list for tonight.
Thanks everyone for listening tonight. This is the best show I've done in ages, and it feels like a real start for Halloween. Thanks for all the heartfelt creative input into the show, and I learnt a lot tonight as well.
I hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve. I've programmed
@fotwradio
to include as many requests as I could fit in, as I'm going to visit friends in town tonight! Thank you for all of your support this year - including the Easter fundraiser, and interview in Japanese!🙏
The next hour is a lot of new music that is not necessarily Halloween or Arashi music - but I've also tried to include a few J-pop songs, so that it hopefully flows on from this current '嵐' hour.
Thanks everyone for listening, I hope you have a good weekend. Thanks always for the requests, even if I don't get to play them all, I always try to see what they are.
Thank you everyone for listening tonight, it was a good chance to share some new music with you, and play many of the requests that come in. I always do see your requests, even if I don't always play them! So thank you for sharing them with me.
Thanks everyone for listening tonight! This might be disappointing, but I have to steal an hour from the Japanese timeslot tomorrow, as the Sydney programming starts at 7 pm my time. But I will try and mingle some of the Japanese Halloween songs in with my time.
Thanks
@ma_greenleaf
for this great tweet. It's very easy to put the show together, when I have some terrific input, but also, lots of inspiration from knowledgeable listeners. It also gives me a chance to share songs I have loved all my life, and can enjoy now with new friends.
Thanks everyone for listening today and tonight to
@fotwradio
📻🎃 There have been so many great song requests coming in, that it feels like a real community Halloween party! Let's count down the days together! Have a great week!
@aomame_fordream
That's incredible
@aomame_fordream
, I've never had that many people listening at once, before Halloween night! Thanks for keeping track. You guys are really adding a lot of energy to the stream this year, and giving me a lot of inspiration!
Thank you everyone for listening - everyone from Japan - but also other parts of the world who still listen during our Japanese pop hour. I'm trying to included a lot of new and interesting music that works well for the Christmas season (not scary like usual) on
@fotwradio
Wow, Kitto Daijyoubu, mirrored the opening song today, of Miles Davis 'In a Silent Way'. In the ARASHI song, I felt I could hear both a trumpet and a Hammond organ - that's exactly what Miles used on that album.
My mum just came back from a holiday in Broome, Western Australia, and she wanted me to share this with the Japanese listeners, that there was once a large Japanese community there, as pearl divers around the 1890s, and a famous cemetery of 900 people.
Thanks everyone for listening today. I've been getting busier lately with a new job I've started (alongside my editing work) - and so the autopilot 👻 will be helping me out more than usual! I do always keep an eye on what's happening with
@fotwradio
though . . .
Thanks everyone for listening to the extra hour; I'm getting some practice in for next month! Enjoy your Mid-Autumn Harvest Moon celebrations.Spooky season starts in two days . . . 🌕👻🎃
Thanks everyone for listening to the Christmas Eve special tonight, I hope you all have a great Christmas. Thanks to Greenleaf for organising a lot of the music programming for Masaki Aiba's bday - as well as Mirumoma and Maco for making up the great graphics for sharing.
'Akatsuki' is a song steeped in Japanese traditional folk music - from their beautiful Japonism album. It is also a request from one of our listeners - thanks so much for your support!

'Whenever You Call' is a very popular song on our show, and has a very hopeful message; it's a great one to share on Good Friday.

I'll go over time a little bit tonight, so I can fit all the songs in, but thanks everyone for listening. This is a good way to spend Valentine's Day - but it's also nice to spend it with someone you love! Happy Valentine's Day!
I appreciate the Japanese listeners who are open to the spooky Halloween music - and the Halloween listeners who are open to the Japanese pop music. But also, both groups, who don't mind me smuggling in secret favourites of Italo disco and Yacht rock!
@Kite3104A
Don't worry Sio, we are like that also in Australia: We only appreciate our artists, if they are valued overseas first, which is not the right way to do it!
Many of the animated cartoons we watched from Japan as kids in Australia were connected with Leiji Matsumoto. They are some very deep rooted memories for me!
It's a public holiday here in Australia, which is why I can DJ tonight! But also, it's getting very close to the Winter solstice; the days are very short, and chilly, with a gentle sun! 🌞 The solstice is on 21st June, and it already feels like a special time🌙
