@seanmdav @LeaderJohnThune you promised to work nights and weekends and you have done none of that. You have proved you are as much a liar as everyone else in the Senate. You have failed President Trump and us.

This would be funny if it wasn't our tax dollars.
Tomorrow is a hearing on USAID in the foreign affairs committee. Maybe somebody will shed some light on these INSANE grants and what the heck they are for: 1. $32 million for multipurpose cash assistance to vulnerable households in Gaza. 2. $49 million for dressing COVID-19 in Ukraine. 3. $23.3 million for risk, communication and community engagement in the media worldwide. 4. $20 million for social cohesion in Burma by creating locally driven community owned development agendas. 5. $15.1 million for investigative journalism by an anonymous entity, somewhere in the area of Europe and Eurasia. 6. $7.9 million for protective activities in Syria. 7. $9.5 million for supporting the locally driven development of an active resilient innovated and well informed democratic society in Eurasia. 8. 4.2 million for promoting citizen engagement in political process. 9. $3.6 million for strengthening the competitiveness financial independence and sustainability of the independent media sector. 10. $2.7 million for advocating for a total constitutional reform (we have no idea where). 11. $1.2 million dollars to bring together, socially cohesive communities and improve civic trust by pursuing shattered solutions to addressed past social justice issues and current inequalities (in which country no one knows). OK, so I’m thinking Kamala Harris wrote the grant language. What the heck do any of these things mean and what was this money used for? Also, for some of these, in what country was this money used for?

Federal employees have many ways to thwart the goals of an Administration. I saw 35 years of that regardless of party (more often against Republican administrations, but not always). So if employees sincerely can't work for someone, then it is good for them to move on. Or maybe this is just the push they need to seek other opportunities that they were reluctant to do.
