Pulled some soil samples this morning for a customer and he mentioned this field was very uniform. The samples below are 200’ from each other. Just because it’s flat doesnt mean it is uniform. Opportunity exists in the variability.

Looking at data from 2020 and water use after the cold spell we experienced on Sept 9th, very little to no water uptake after that date, that also means no nutrients were moving into the plant to finish the crop out.

Shutting water off too early on corn brings on premature black layer, reduced test weight and ultimately yield. Upwards of 10-20 bushels depending on timing. These ears also are harder to shell due to spongy cobs.
