Update: shell impacted near me, tossed me a few feet into a crater and I landed knee-first on a brick, knee probably fractured. Got up to keep moving and a mortar landed next to me, threw a piece of shrapnel into the small of my back and tossed me into another crater. Shrapnel fragmented, one piece stayed near my spine and the other penetrated deeper into my abdomen. Have some minor eardrum stuff and also a bit peppered all over with smaller pieces of debris and whatnot, but that’s all. Still breathing, still an asshole, and am doing everything in my power to be back doing what I love and punishing invaders as soon as I’m permitted. Those two Russian prank callers made an absolute bumbling fucking fool out of this individual. Absolutely zero awareness or common sense. That was such an embarrassment; managed to somehow embarrass the entirety of the Armed Forces by being in that role and being that colossally, unmitigatedly stupid. Baffling to me how or why command didn’t remedy the issue far earlier tbh. I’m sure they had their reasons, but fuck.
