Campaigning since 2013 for people and animals, asking the government to 'regulate and license the use of fireworks.'
Joined November 2014
Current firework laws are loaded in favour of people who like fireworks, but don’t recognise the environmental damage & misery they cause. Our campaign is to rebalance the law. We campaign for vulnerable people, pets, wildlife & common sense. #fireworklawchange @10DowningStreet.

“The Pembrokeshire National Park is working to conserve a fantastic living landscape” says their website. “Our aim is to promote ecological resilience measures” they go on to say. Why permit huge wildlife damaging firework displays in Tenby? @PembsCoast .

Good to see @BBC covering the Kings Lynn firework story. It’s time the debate about public funded fireworks became a national debate, never mind Norfolk. The message is clear-they damage the environment, scare wildlife, pets & vulnerable people.

Meanwhile in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, there’s hope. A group are questioning the local Councils use of “wasteful fireworks”. More people should question their council’s use of fireworks, for many reasons-environmental, noise, wildlife, & vulnerable people.

The use of fireworks to celebrate anything & everything all year round, has to stop. This is an interesting article about Bradford & how nightly fireworks are causing people across all the town’s communities to question their use.

Fireworks have untold effects on wildlife. These Bald Eagles returned to their roost tree after 4th July, but it could have been much worse-what if the fireworks were in the breeding season? For the sake of wildlife @10DowningStreet change firework law.

Famed bald eagle couple Jackie and Shadow briefly flew the coop July 4 during Big Bear Lake fireworks celebration. By late Saturday night, they had returned.

Exactly this! When police get called to firework nuisance 9 times out of ten the perpetrators have already gone and will definitely starburst when the police arrive. Cut the fireworks off at source by changing laws on when and who can buy @10DowningStreet.
@fireworkreform @10DowningStreet @YvetteCooperMP I don't see how they can tackle it! You can't identify where a firework in the sky originated from. There's clearly a massive amount of shops selling these things year round & teenagers can sit on a phone in their bedrooms and order them online.

Do the police really have the resources to “pledge”? It would be far better for everyone to cut off the supply of fireworks in the first instance - no fireworks, no nuisance. Change the law @10DowningStreet @YvetteCooperMP .

The negative firework stories keep rolling in, even outside the traditional firework autumn season. When will the Government act to put a stop to the endless nuisance, damage and downright misery @10DowningStreet? .

It’s long overdue a serious discussion was had about firework abuse. The current laws and the enforcement of them just aren’t cutting it @10DowningStreet We need firework law change & effective enforcement now.
This article was posted 5:31pm yesterday. Meanwhile, all yesterday evening where the police have pledged they will tackle nuisance behaviour, there were dirt bikes and cars driving around a public field amongst a group of people setting off fireworks with no police in sight.

One of our supporters puts it perfectly about restricting fireworks to traditional days only and makes a valid point about the loud bangs. Some people have been to war already though, and some of them suffer horrendously with their PTSD when there are fireworks.
@fireworkreform @10DowningStreet This year round use has to stop,we need to go back to the days when fireworks weren't available online& were only on sale in shops around Nov 5th. We live in an era where war is a worry& several shooting sprees have happened in history, people don't need sudden bangs & explosions.

As well as the many & frequent scheduled displays happening during the summer, people have to put up with random fireworks at 1am too. There’s a way to sort it-licensed displays only & limit the dates @10DowningStreet .

All those police hours used up investigating this horrific firework incident, and still no conclusion. How many police hours across the UK are spent on policing fireworks? Change the law and the problem could mostly go away @10DowningStreet .

Great reasons for towns and cities to consider before organising their regular summer firework displays.
@fireworkreform Irresponsible, unnecessary and pointless, totally ignorant of the harm and distress caused to animals, wildlife and people. There is no justification. There are plenty of other options they could do to entertain visitors, tourists etc that don’t cause harm.
