@HeliSlacker @stacey_hb_ You are correct, CalFire isn’t a participant in ESF4. But, read the bottom paragraph. Ultimately, mobilization through ESF4 is a last resort after local and other intrastate agreements are exhausted, including EMAC.

@JohnAFisher @HotshotWake @HeliSlacker Since it’s a Presidentially declared disaster, the Federal GOV will pick up most of the cost, even EMAC orders.

@HeliSlacker @JohnAFisher At the end of the day, the State has to request assistance from FEMA. At that point they’d shop to the appropriate ESF. It’s their choice(HI)to go through EMAC instead. This isn’t the first time and there is a recent example of the same thing happening last year in NM.

@JohnAFisher @HeliSlacker You are absolutely correct. This was an EMAC order. Both the CalFire IMT through EMAC and a Fed IMT through ESF4 were considered. Many variables, including politics weigh in here.
