Thank you to everyone who came to "Stories from the Labor Museum" at @JAHHM for Open House Chicago! What better place to bring accounts of immigrant artistry to life than in the residents' dining hall—a venue that historically drew speakers and performers from across the globe.

So excited to be performing "Stories from the Labor Museum," a program of original short stories based on my archival research, as part of Open House Chicago programming at @JAHHM! 2pm on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

Very much enjoyed attending and presenting at this year's @EdHistorians Conference! My presentation explored the ways in which whole-family arts education facilitated intergenerational connection and community organizing at Progressive Era Chicago settlement houses.

Congratulations to the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum on the opening of the new Radical Craft exhibition! It has been such a joy to contribute research, a catalog essay, and short stories to this immersive exploration of immigrant handicraft. Be sure to visit!

Extra, extra, read all about it! It was so much fun to lead “Writing and Performing the News,” a special topics workshop at Piven’s summer camp. From Lego Olympics to laundry detergent smoothies, the news team’s improvised stories were full of energy and imagination!

Thankful to have been awarded the Benjamin Bloom Dissertation Completion Fellowship for research on education, as well the Debra Mesch Doctoral Fellowship for research on women's philanthropy! Both awards will support the final stages of dissertation writing. 🎉
