This is a very good question and I'm so happy you took an interest in this subject. Apart from kutsi kuyaliwa (this is not the biggest reason they themselves can't bring the matter before the ICJ), the biggest reason that holds the most weight is that it is only states\nations...
Something similar would take it upon itself to ensure it contributes to an end to the very same suffering it has gone through. It is now upon other countries to add their voices and resources to this and obviously to pull other countries (i.e. Congo) out of the same gutter.
That can appear\bring matters before the Court. Individuals\citizens cannot, only persons representing a state\nation can do so. Now, we would be incorrect if we said Palestine currently has uHulumeni (.gov), abanaye kwasanhlobo hence kuvela macembu lapha nalapha to fight for..
Their cause. On top of that, the UN (which you can mis\interpret as the government which governs nations) does not recognize Palestine as a state, they only allow them to observe lapha nalapha but aba-vote\can't influence anything although really very few nations can do this.
Such as South Africa kutsi babamele and bring the world's attention to the injustice happening there ngoba whatever your beliefs are and whatever the reasons for the conflict are, people should not be dying like this nor should they be subjected to this inhumanity. This can also
Currently, the UN does not recognize it as live (nation\state) lelitimele or lelisemtsetfweni hence they can't appear before the ICJ because the Court is a product of the UN so if abakuboni ungumuntfu, there's no way batokumamela. Hence, it is the responsibility of other nations
Take us to the "why aren't Arab nations bringing the matter to the Court?" question which is equally brilliant kodwa injustice is injustice and it is the responsibility of ALL to point it out and put an end to it. You would then appreciate why a country that has gone through...
I hope to come back to this video whenever I am faced with gloomy days.

I played Burna Boy's Ye on repeat a lot when I was reading John Grisham's 'The Client The Street Lawyer' so much that when I play it now, all the events of the books are playing in my head as I listen.
Reading and studying policies is one of my favourite hobbies because of the amount of time and expertise that goes into drafting them. With that said, I suggest that parties should dedicate at least 2 years to drafting policies. It's a slow and demanding process that should not

The day I graduate neh, my dog will walk across that stage with me. 😂😂
She has seen me through the worst times in varsity plus I'm convinced she knows more about the Constitution than me at this point with all those lectures we used to attend together 😂😂

I don't want people to get unnecessary notifications because the honest truth is that in practice, not much will happen. The ruling won't magically end Palestine's problems, at best, it will highlight what is happening. If the Court rules in our favour, the other side is most...
By this logic, other countries should NOT have taken a stand against apartheid South Africa as they had (plenty) domestic issues to attend to.
You are correct that the government has so much to address internally but such a reality should not deprive us of our voice on...
South Africa's decision to approach the ICJ regarding the conflict in Israel reflects a concerning detachment from reality. Among the nations globally, the ANC government stands out as one with a glaring lack of moral foundation to appeal to a court

I can't believe people say words like 'conundrum' and 'vis-a-vis' in real life, I hesitate a hundred million times before writing it, I can't imagine it just flowing from my mouth in a normal day-to-day conversation. The problem is me, I'm aware.
Why does it seem there is a sudden "push" for coalition governments? In the end, no one rules/governs, well at least not effectively anyway. It is near impossible for coalitions to function properly because you're bringing different (and often opposing) groups and forcing them...
For ANC, it’s Nompendulo: it doesn’t make sense why someone who led a national youth movement, was correctly placed in parliament to deal with issues that led her to the streets, did so well - but is relegated far down the list.
These people did a trivia on the United Nations (UN) & the Security Council (UNSC). They texted me to confirm a few things and afterwards sent R100 for assisting.
That's free cash to buy newspapers for the next few weeks.
I'm not pro-this party or anti-that one. I just don't think any one government can achieve anything in a 5 year period, it's impossible because the rot runs too deep. Even if you give any President the maximum 2 terms (10 years), she can't achieve anything tangible because a huge
If I could I'd read Africa's First Woman President HE Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's autobiography 'This Child Will Be Great' for the first time again! What a remarkable story, what a brilliant leader!
I have just written my first piece for the year, I've enjoyed writing it (hence it's my longest piece thus far) and I hope it's equally an enjoyable read.

The upside to elections in South Africa is the instant end to loadshedding.
The downside? Power stations will "magically" start breaking down appr. 2 weeks afterwards.
Reading makes me so happy, I didn't know finally holding a newspaper in my hand would fulfill me so much 😂
I think I need to commit to buying a newspaper at least once a month, it really brings me joy.

The many countries and players behind them. They expected a walk in the park. Also, it comes down to why bother when you have no intent to implement the ruling of the Court. At best, South Africa has led the trail for similar outcries, we still have a long way to go in changing..
@Vuv_MD
We still have a long way to go in influencing The stance of UN Courts when it comes to such matters & particularly parties that are not from a certain region. I hope people are not getting unnecessary notifications, I'm still navigating my way around this app.

Hi Doc, I hope you're okay. I might be misinterpreting your question but to attempt to answer, Law Practitioners do have a body like that, it's the LPC (Legal Practice Council).
I see South Africa is part of & even leading so many of these and yet IR graduates are sitting at home with no prospects of breaking into the sector, many are resorting to PGCE. This is a waste of an investment that government has already made.
Today Amb. Nkosi received former Pres. H.E Thabo Mbeki, who is attending the Board & Council Meetings of the South Centre, 25 – 27 April 2023. Ex-Pres. Mbeki is the Chair of the Board of the South Center, a Think Tank of countries of the Global South on trade/development issues.
I'm a fan of work with footnotes, it makes life extremely easy. I enjoy reading a passage then scrolling down to footnotes to see where this is from or to read about it in detail, it's more convenient than only finding references at the end of the chapter\entire document.
I wrote an article on this matter 2 years ago. Limiting the number of political parties contesting in elections will also force parties to be clear on their ideologies and avoid tip-toeing on crucial matters. Parties will work for those votes!
I still stand by my words: even if we don't implement all our policies, if we can just master & put NEPAD to action, the African continent will take its rightful place in the world stage.
This morning I read an article that was basically talking about the abundance of copper in Zambia & how the country could use this as leverage in the new route of 'electrification' the world is taking. The authors pointed out just how Foreign Investors specifically in the ...

I spoke about this in my last article and the focus was specifically on South African elections. People are tired and politicians need to come up with a new & fresher way of reviving people's hope in elections, that is they need to deliver the services they promise.
I'll never get tired of celebrating this. I love it so so very much when people take pride in their countries and embrace their national flag. It makes me so happy.
I celebrate RSA by using our National Anthem as my ring tone 😂❤️
The look on people’s faces when they see this flag is heartwarming. The young and old, vendors, police, security guards, herders, etc. just yesterday, I had school kids running after the flag on a gravel road chanting “Lesotho, Lesotho…’ I have never felt so proud of my country

I think the confiscation of the documents comes in because he's no longer in a position to be in possession of such unless if he appeals the decision, which I hope he does. The decision is legitimate but it's a little bit too harsh, perhaps they should've looked at his..
To subscribe to the same ideologies/principles when in actual fact, if this were possible, they'd be one big functional political party anyway. It's v difficult to unite members/leaders of the SAME party, you can imagine how much more impossible it is when it's different PARTIES.
I'm here for a number of reasons; to connect & engage with like-minded people and to also write down my thoughts with the intention to reflect a few years from now & see how I've evolved in my thinking. This is something I wish I had started years ago but better late than never.

Just because you no longer love your spouse it is not a ground for you to be given a divorce in terms of the law. Divorce in Botswana under Common Law is fault based, that is you have to show that the spouse you want a divorce from is the reason why your marriage has ended,
I asked a question and the lecturer said it's "interesting" at least 3 times. I don't know if it's that brilliant or just that stupid, he's so shocked 🤣🤣😂😂😂
I love the Republic of South Africa with all my heart and in all honesty, I would die for this country. This is why I intend to serve the country as best as my abilities permit. 🇿🇦
