My old neighbour, Peter, a genius of a bricklayer, built these two properties opposite me in the evenings after a full days work, in the 1960’s. He lived in the one on the right for years and in this street all his life. He died today sadly, but certainly left his mark!

Bill Kenwright was the only respondent to a letter I sent to everyone, asking them to find me an acting job with an Equity card. He invited me to his office, took me for lunch and then, 3 weeks later, rang and offered me my first professional job. I will always love him for it❤️.

I played Rev. Cherry in Eastenders a long time ago, but I was lucky enough to do nearly all my scenes with the wonderful June Brown. Generous, kind, skilled and very funny is how I remember her. Honoured. Lucky me! R.I.P xx

Heading home! Audition was fun. I remembered my lines, looked as if I knew what I was talking about, mentioned other jobs I’ve done without sounding like I was boasting or desperate and at least I sounded like an aristocrat, despite looking like a posh tramp. Fingers crossed 🤞

This man funded a school my son went to. It was for school refusers and children who had been expelled. It worked!.He never publicised it but he gave millions to help those children. Bless him! X.
