8pm EDT Aug 29th -- NHC is now monitoring two tropical waves, one in the central Tropical Atlantic that has a medium chance (50%🟠) & one off the coast of Africa that has a low chance (20%🟡) of TC development over the next 7 days.

The environment this week supports tropical funnels and brief waterspouts all along the Gulf Coast. We've gotten some reports of these funnels and potentially even a waterspout near Sargent recently.

At 1115 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Sienna, or 7 miles southwest of Fresno, moving northwest at 20 mph.

. The new forecast is very similar to the last one, just slightly further to the east. Beryl is still expected to make landfall early Monday Morning near Matagorda Bay as a Category 1 Hurricane.

Still expected to become a hurricane before landfall along the Texas coast. Hurricane Warnings have now been extended to San Luis Pass & preparations should be rushed to completion today.
Latest:
Tropical Storm Beryl is expected to build back to hurricane status this weekend.
It appears to be an early Monday landfall. Make all preparations now as the potential for more direct impact is still possible.
