Some interesting usage numbers for Anthropic's Claude family of AI models. By far the biggest catagory (at 37% of all chats) is for computer (include coding) and maths work, which isn't surprising at all.

@meadwaj @twattwattering @British_Enjoyer @macrodosepod And the value of the technology rests on whether more tasks can be automated. If he’s wrong with his guess on that - if he has underestimated capabilities progress - then his entire prediction falls apart. So you have to assume that he has perfectly judged future AI progress.

@FrayneJack34043 Beg to differ there, Liz. Every job I ever worked was shit, stressful, mind numbing, involved various humiliations, had atrocious pay and benefits. Perhaps you had some cushier jobs which didn’t make you want to rope yourself everyday; I don’t know.

@JobbingLeftieH @meadwaj Yep, it’s a nothing burger. Sainsbury’s also do this. It gives customers personalised discounts on the items they buy frequently. These offers (‘Your Nectar Prices’ are in *addition* to the Nectar Prices all customers have access to. Very scary stuff, discounts on items you like.
