Georgian oil tanker refuses to fuel a Russian ship. The Russians: “Common, let’s leave politics aside! We just need fuel!” Georgians: “Russian ship, go f..yourself. Glory to Ukraine! And you can always use oars, so, row!”
A source tells me that many Russian tanks/heavy machines don’t simply run out of fuel — crews dump the fuel intentionally, as soon as they learn that their destination is Kyiv. After all they’ve been told that they were going as “peacekeepers” to “protect Russians” in Donbas.
My great grandmother told me a story she heard from her grandmother: “The Russians would come after 2 in the morning hoping to get to the village while it was still asleep, and kill everyone. But our animals would alert us of their coming & we’d run and hide in the mountains…
State-controlled Telegram channels won’t stop bragging about this video. Not sure who is the creator. But wow, just watch it. If the Russians didn’t promote it, I’d think this was a satire. Why do they think this could attract foreigners to move to Russia? “Winter is coming.”
When you think no news from Russia can surprise you anymore, a cargo plane looses a hatch, lands in Yakutia and 9 tons of gold fall out of the plane. No word on whose gold, where to/from and why it was being transported.
Russia’s main state news agency RIA Novosti posted, then removed a piece with invaluable insight into what Putin wanted to gain from the war he waged against Ukraine. Apparently, the war was supposed to end on Feb. 26 with 🇺🇦full irreversible capitulation.
Moscow court sentenced an ex-top manager of Kaspersky Lab to 14 years in prison for state treason. He allegedly passed on to the Americans the info about the hacking of the U.S. Democratic Party servers in 2016. If Russia was not behind the hack as the Kremlin says, why treason?
Бывшего топ-менеджера «Лаборатории Касперского» приговорили к 14 годам за госизмену. СМИ писали, что он мог передавать США информацию о хакерах, взломавших сервера Демократической партии перед выборами
don’t mean, that they’re suddenly stricken with shame & don’t want to obey orders. What I’m told is that their reasons are much simpler than that: heavy machinery is an easy target for anybody, while a death trap for the riders & they don’t want to die So it’s fear, not sympathy
To a non-Russian born in 🇷🇺, the whole “Latvian scandal” looks more like a clash of cultures rather than a press freedom issue. In 🇷🇺n constitution ethnic Russians are a “titular nation.” They’re indoctrinated with being a “superior nation” so, equality they see as Russophobia
Every time I’d ask my grandma why did the Russians collect the body parts? She would say, that nobody knew, but rumors were they were sending these as a gift to the Russian tsar. After I grew up I learned of the Circassian heads still kept in Kunstkamera.
Russia erased Circassia not only from the world map but from the world memory. But not from its own archives and from the Circassian oral history (not for the lack of trying). Aubekir Gukemukh, Circassian professor perished from Josef Stalin’s repression, left behind a collection
The creepiest thing about it (apart from little girls) is that every single passage fits into Russian propaganda: starting from “Ukrainian Soviet Republic, to direct Putin quote of “no cancel culture” to “withstand 1,000 sanctions” and claiming 🇺🇦writer and a singer as Russians.
Later, we learned from our scouts, that the Russians always had a few carts with them filled with severed heads and body parts of Circassians. And that the stench of death coming from those carts was what made our animas scream.” 3
#CircassianGenocide
“For a long time we did not know why all the animals in the village, cows, horses, gods, even gees would simultaneously start screaming like in horror. We even believed it was a sign from above that the gods were protecting us… 2
Rakhmon to Putin sum up: All we hear is sharing information, but what information? Everything is fake, everything is a cover up. Europe and U.S. must know what is happening in reality, and what is happening is that we have problems, we, the Central Asians have problems with you.
This rambling, unscripted rant by Tajikistan's president, directed entirely at an uncomfortable-looking Vladimir Putin, is something really quite extraordinary
That poem translates:
What a spring
A spring of despair
A spring of horrors
Blood runs
At my doorsteps
In this spring of sorrow
I am thirsty
But my heart rejects this water
The Ingzhigh River
Runs blood
Even dogs don’t drink it.
The original Circassian is in a tweet below
…of Circassian folklore that was hidden away from his other more than 2,000 transcripts the Russian NKVD took out into his front yard and burned during his arrest. One short poem from that small book is about that mountain village my great grandmother story came from…

- this video taken yesterday, April 7, in a village in Rostov region next to the border between the two countries. Locals say this was a second convoy.
Important reminder: Russia lost its first war to Chechnya, including informationally, the world’s sympathy was with Chechen freedom fighters. Before launching the 2nd retaliatory war, Russia chose a different strategy - a hybrid war. 1
Six busses from a small Dagestan town, watch with the sound on. The busses have a sign “to Sevastopol” that is a strong indication that there will be no training just cannon fodder. Moscow also deployed thousands of riot police from Buryatiya to North Caucasus as “order keepers.”
2. Putin was supposed to emerge a victorious unifier, savior and the leader of the “Russian world” announcing immediately after the defeat of Kyiv a new state that included “all three parts of the Russian nation” - Ru, Ukraine, Belarus.
“…it is highly likely… that the Russian MoD is falsifying data on Ukrainian losses in order to over-exaggerate Russian capabilities”
@TheStudyofWar
This was just a legally cleared public surface of the Nazi movement in Russia. They also train militia groups who hunt down and kill non-Russians, vandalize cemeteries, gang-rape little girls. All that rarely makes to the Western mainstream, which follows Russian media lead.
The Russians actually still claim in the United Nations that they started the war on Ukraine to “fight fascism.” The UN Security Council is still actually listening to Russia’s envoys saying that.
Genocidal scheming on Russian state TV: Andrey Sidorov, Deputy Dean of world politics at the MSU urges Russia not to miss the right moment to cause a massive refugee crisis in Europe, exacerbating economic and political tensions by causing a massive influx of Ukrainian refugees.
3. In this “new world” the “anti-Russian” Ukraine no longer exists. Russia is now back to its “original self, whole again,” and a global monolith, which does not have to follow the rules imposed by others but dictates its own rules to the world.
When being treated equally with any other people in a host country most ethnic Russian people who grew up in USSR/Russia get confused, then they assume the position of a victim, self pity and claims of Russophobia become routine conversation topics, I’ve seen this many times.
This 17 century Netherland map (from an album UNESCO listed as world cultural heritage) angered the Russian propagandist Skabeyeva bcs it does not show Russia but Moscovia and has Circassia. She doesn’t know that all old maps showed Circassia until 🇷🇺 genocided it into oblivion
You mean, like the London polonium tea server Lugovoy, the Berlin bicycle rider “Krasikov”, the Salisbury novichok “tourists” “Petrov & Boshirov,” and many many others? still can’t comprehend how Russia keeps getting away with all that staff, plus MH17 - all on Europe’s soil.
Military experts on Russian state TV keep bringing up Pavel Sudoplatov—a historical figure who was involved in planning and carrying out assassinations and sabotage actions in Western countries—as the kind of actor the nation could really use right now.
Ukraine targets Russian ammunition hubs. Russia targets Ukrainian schools, hospitals, shelters, shopping centers. All there is to know about who is who in this war.
The worst part is that they do not realize how entitled and privileged they are in their own country, especially the “intellectual elite,” and how wrong and unacceptable that whole “titular nation” situation is for any ethnically non-Russian having to live under that constitution
Rakhmon to Putin: I was there when the Soviet Union collapsed, I’ve witnessed it. I know why it has collapsed- it is for the same things you are doing now. It did not support the small nations, did not help them develop economically, preserve culture, traditions. Same as you!
Rakhmon to Putin: We host your military bases, we do everything you ask for, we really try to be what you pretend to be to us “strategic partners.” But we are never being treated like strategic partners! No offense, but we want to be respected! (Loose translation summary)
Russia was made that way - take the land, deport its natives, repopulate with Russians - two generations later the newcomers’ grandchildren will sincerely believe the land was always Russian, or pretend they believe. Just look at Sochi, Kuban, Pyatigorsk — Circassia is no more.
Varlamov News.
A committee, representing people in nine regions of Russia, announced a formation of ethnic battalions to fight against Russia in Ukraine. The volunteers will be trained by Ukrainian instructors. Ibragim Yaganov leads the Circassians volunteers.
There is a Circassian proverb: the blood of innocent is avenged by a stranger. Ukraine is that glorious stranger to thousands victims of Putin’s many bloody wars around the world over the years. I’m so looking forward to the day when Russia capitulates unconditionally.
Rakhmon to Putin: We are not a big nation, we are not a hundred million nation but we have our history, we have our culture and traditions and we love them. We do not want your money, we want to be respected as we deserve.
The entire ~3,000 words piece is significant for it gives a glimpse into the apparently troubled mind of Russia’s leader, but this part below is probably the most important: to Putin the existence of independent Ukraine caused a struggle with a «national humiliation complex.” 👀
Rakhmon to Putin: Your businessmen come and rob us of our natural resources, they are not interested in anything but oil, gas that will enrich them. But how about our industry? Our national strategic interests? You don’t care!
Rakhmon to Putin: We have 2 million ethnic Russians. Russian language is a required study from kindergarten to university. But we don’t have Russian language text books, we ask, and ask, and ask, and I don’t want to offend you, but you don’t care.
A full moon (Maza) between the two heads of the Mount Yaschamahua (Elbrus), which means the mount of happiness, sacred for Circassians. They believed, the gods feasted at this mountain and that the people’s origin will be revealed to them after the snow on its tops melts.
Good thing Berlusconi is no more, though even he made some half-hearted statements like “disappointed in Putin.” That is after 20 years of calling him a brother and “number one world leader.” Just like many other enablers thanks to whose praise and support Putin felt invincible
This is big. I wholeheartedly wish them a full recovery but I know, they never will fully recover. In a few days the trauma is going to hit them with a full force. But they must hold on to this: you are alive and you are home. Glory to Ukraine.
Most likely, Dagestan will be first to rebel, the police are shooting above heads so far. There are signs of civil unrest in other North Caucasus regions as well.
Putin settled on the numbers provided by his Sec. Council head & FSB colleague Patrushev, that is 312 dead and 157 wounded. The intelligences (FSB, GRU, SVR etc) blamed the military for a “tragic failure” & demanded reprisals. Putin’s to announce his decision in 24 hours.”
Circassia in 1788 - already at war with the Russian empire, and after losing large chalks of it’s territory to the enemy, still a century of war before Russia kills or deports 90% of Circassians, and erases the country from the world map. Russia’s version of “greatness.”
In replies to tweets in this thread, one argument was used more often - that showing a map of Crimea as part of Russia was just one time technical error. It was not though. In 2017 Ukraine banned them for showing the same map and promoting the same ideas.
During the last years of my work in Russia I lived in Nalchik. My two kids went to a nearby middle school. One day I went there to pick them up. Two large men with towels around their necks wearing only short underwear were walking down the school corridor. Several others…
In Chechnya the Russians would leave “toys” and “candies” on the streets near or inside residential homes that would explode when a kid picked it up. There are hundreds of Chechens whose childhood was war, missing limbs, blinded, their faces and bodies deformed.
Retreating Russian soldiers routinely leaves booby traps for returning civilians - such traps have no military value and are designed simply to inflict maximum carnage
Western media often introduce me same as Dozhd “Russian journalist in exile” but it would never come to my mind (consciously or unconsciously) to call the Russian army “our army” & the Russian troops “our boys,” which Dozhd does routinely (Nemzer, Mongait, Sindeeva, Korostylev).
The FSB under director Vladimir Putin infiltrated the Chechen resistance (secular at the time) with agents posing as Islamic insurgents, it also allowed pores in the borders with Georgia/Azerbaijan to let real Islamists in to support radical transformation of Chechen forces 2
In addition to covertly transforming the Chechen freedom cause into jihad, the FSB closed foreign media access to Chechnya and imposed self-censorship among the local and Russian press by intimidation & oppression, gaining full control of the narrative, ie Chechens=terrorists. 3
Largest Russian state-owned TV channel: “For the achievement of the goals of the special operation a decision is made to regroup the Russian troops.” Yes, please, regroup them to Red Square, Moscow.
Now, with the world’s hearts and minds (&money & weapons) with Ukraine, Putin desperately needs to high jack the narrative. He needs the world to stop loving and start hating Ukraine. The ridiculous “Nazi” narrative failed spectacularly. He will try & play the terrorist card.

how many locked rooms do we have in our brains and what kind of prisoners do we keep in them? Are we a locked room where we imprison our dreams, ideas, our true selves?
“Your tax dollars pay for just about everything a police department does, which includes generating tons of reports, dispatch logs, video recordings and data about what officers do every day.”
Frequently cited Telegram channel “General of SVR” writes today that the Makiivka “disaster” caused much havoc in Russia with various ministries and security agencies all reporting to Putin with a 24 hour delay and different numbers of casualties - Defense ministry least of all.
Examples include the Dubrovka theater attack; the series of apartment building bombings, many investigative journalists described as the FSB false flag operation. By successfully implementing this strategy, Moscow was able to completely revert the world’s attitude on Chechens. 5
Key part of the strategy were high profile terrorist attacks with a maximum press coverage (controlled & premeditated). The ideas/plans of such attacks were usually seeded by the FSB implanted agents & in some cases, coordinated directly with the FSB (See S. Basaev’s interviews)4
..the emergence of “Ukrainian terrorism” gives Putin smthg else he sincerely craves: the love of Russians, which he will get, if he succeeds - there is nothing more certain to make Russians love him than proving to them they’re rightful victims of unjust Russophobic powers/ end
By the start of the second war in Chechnya, the outside world saw the Chechen struggle exactly as Russia wanted it to be seen - a violent Islamic terrorist mess with no honor and no purpose other than jihad. This allowed Russia to re-colonize Ichkeria and cleanse if of dissent 6
I get it, generalizations don’t help and one person’s opinion does not make a trend but when a member of the Russian opposition council says Latvia is not a place for civilized people because he personally doesn’t agree with a decision of Latvia’s media watchdog

From Circassian mythology: His name is Mazitha, the god of forest and protector of hunters. He rides a wild boar whose fur is pure gold. Hunters must offer him a sacrifice before entering his forest & must only speak with him and between themselves in Chakobza, hunters’ language.
I deleted the last tweet in this thread marked P.S. after checking the content on the screenshot more carefully and realizing that my interpretation of it was wrong. I apologize to all for that. As for the rest of the above, I stand by my observations.
It did not take long for Russia to stop exploiting its creation “Chechen terrorism” - it was removed from the media language by the same organs who invented it, as soon as its usefulness for the Kremlin expired. 7
And now just like other burnt agents (i.e. Andrey Lugovoy who poisoned Litvinenko with a polonium tea in London, and Anna Chapman who also got caught in the U.S.) sits in the Russian Duma making laws and runs her own TV show on a state-owned channel.
I went to the principal’s office, got my kids’ papers. They never went to a 🇷🇺 school after that. I’ve learned that the troops stayed at schools for more that 2 months. Shockingly, nobody protested. That’s when I knew how much people in Russia are paralyzed & demoralized by fear.
This is bad. In many cases means sending Ukrainian POWs to Chechnya for Ramzan Kadyrov to decide whether to use them for forced labor (slavery still very much exists in Chechnya) or send them to Khankala to be broken physically and mentally then brainwashed to fight against 🇺🇦
Yevgeny Balitsky, Russia-appointed occupation Governor of Zaporizhzhia, says that Russia has no intention of exchanging Ukrainian POWs and is instead making them to "atone with their blood" by fighting against Ukraine or being used as construction workers.
Governor of Kabardino-Balkaria Kazbek Kokov met today with conscripts. Some of the questions they asked: “How about people with health issues? We have here people with epilepsy, with diabetes, heart disease. Are we going to have any medical exam before they send us to the front?”
The Circassian horse - almost extinct after being targeted by Soviet “confiscation” during which pure breed horses where sent to food producers for kolbasa, now reviving thanks to few enthusiasts
Russians outraged by the behavior of a Circassian who flipped off the audience after winning a fight in Moscow. But the 🇷🇺s shared only the final part. His entire fight Russians chanted racist slogans at him. Here he’s victorious, shouting the Circassian battle cry Adyge Wey Wey!
The Russian army significantly increased payments for signing a contract: at the time of enlisting 250K (was 28,000); monthly 220K plus 8K for every day at war; if killed, 12,5 mil one time compensation to family, and 15K to 20K monthly to each family member. They have problems

To wrap this up: in hosting 🇷🇺 media countries need to have realistic expectations & clear understanding of why they grant an asylum & a platform to that particular media, i.e. to speak with the Russian audience from a position of kinship while delivering at least “partial truth”
Aubekir Gukemukh was a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academic, folklorist, linguist. He spent years in 1930s walking village to village recording Circassian tales, stories, songs. He catalogued some 20,000 pieces. One night, the NKVD came, burned all his manuscripts
Russia is bombing Ukrainian book publishers to erase our identity. This isn’t just about burning books—they try to destroy everything Ukrainian. Russia must be stopped finally. Read my firsthand for the Atlantic Council.

in Sochi still clean their gardens from Russian cannonballs, at the beginning they covered the land like an iron rug.
🧵In 2012 I’ve got a freshly printed biography of Leonardo da Vinci. Was always fascinated by him. Only had to get to page 30, to read this in the chapter about his mother (from Leonardo’s journal): “she was a Circassian princess.” 1/3
Is Dozhd' still an Independent Russian TV since it calls a convicted bank robber and militiaman a "war correspondent"? Same as the Russian foreign ministry which also says that Fomin was a "war correspondent."
There is a common (Russia-incepted) confusion among the Western thinkers that Chechnya or Dagestan are the regions whose choices decide the future of Caucasus. That view has been proven historically wrong. Circassia is the key to the Caucasus. (The meme is from Facebook group)
Nalchik right now. The region’s government representative keeps repairing: “We must implement the federal law!” Women respond that he can go to hell with that law. One says, “You take kids who don’t even know how to shoot!” The other says “15 kids are already back, dead!”
Speaking of the Russian troops morale: below is a short fragment of a much longer record (can’t upload bcs Twitter won’t allow the length). If you know Ru, listen, if not - here is a summary: we are properly and thoroughly f-d.
Apparently Peskov’s son got pranked. 😃😃
- This is military commissariat. You’re to report tomorrow at 10am to be mobilized.
- My name is Peskov. If you don’t understand it, I’ll address this issue on a different level…
- So, can we put you down as volunteer?
- Surely not!
A group of Wagner PMCs voluntarily surrendered in the eastern direction. More and more stories like these are coming out these days. It seems these guys are done fighting in horrible conditions the Russian military leaderships puts them in. Some don't even wear protection.
Several men in Russian military attire were sitting at the floor, smocking cigarettes. Kids were also trying to get trough after classes. I asked a teacher what’s going on. Special forces units from central Russia got deployed to Nalchik, stationed at local schools, she said.
