That they were released from Gulu remand home last week, having been starved to death! These are youth from Kotido who got arrested last year. It is now reported that one of them died this week. Who will account for this unfair treatment of humans?
@norbertmao
@KagutaMuseveni
Being a Karamojong lady, I can testify I've suffered all types of stereotypes as a student and as an adult job seeker, we've always been rediculed for being who we are.
After university, I applied for at least three jobs per week. After many attempts I got shortlisted for a
Given her extraordinary sense of fashion in Uganda, Rt Hon
@AnitahAmong
has added value to this traditional dress from Karamoja, yes of Ateker people. She wore it at a dinner with delegates from the common wealth parliaments that had come for CSPOC. Our sincere gratitude ❤️ 💖.

@LillianAber
,the Woman MP for Kitgum District, The Secretary of NRM Parliamentary Caucus, the beauty queen of Acholi. I was only lucky to get this close to her.
These are boys who were starved in Gulu remand home. They hail from Kotido. They are now getting treatment at CoU H/Ciii Kotido. Starvation in remand homes in Uganda must stop! Nothing can justify that act!

let's rescue the remaining children in other cells.
Thank you Rt Hon
@Thomas_Tayebwa
for the space to have these silent voices heard. We await a response from PM
@RobinahNabbanja
next Thursday. We expect 3 things:
1. Restoration of health of these boys.
2. Care for those still in detention homes.
3. Compensation for one who died.
This morning in Moroto by use of a spear, this Princess got killed in cold blood in her farm together with her mother, Bro & an unborn baby. The alleged trigger of the killing is a land dispute.
@JudithNabakoob1
the land conflicts in Karamoja require attention.
@KagutaMuseveni
Today we bury another youth in Kotido. Lopeyo William was gunned by road thugs on Kotido-Moroto road at a time when we thought peace was now returning.
@KagutaMuseveni
@cdfupdf
lets remove the damn gun & deal squarely with criminality. The pain is so deep! Oh God Remember Mercy!
Secret No2: Accepting that I am a human being & can't be anything else. This implies that:-
1.I sh'd eliminate all forms of racial, tribal & sectarian biases in dealing with humans
2.I sh'd be fair & patient with humans
3.I can make mistakes, for which I sh'd take responsibility
This is the youngest of the boys that were released from Gulu remand home. This is not food shortage as some people have chosen to use this pic for drumming for food aid. When it is a food crisis, we won't hide it to mean something else. All people in remand homes sh'd be fed!
Here is a brief with a focus on what needs to be done immediately, in short term and in long term for us to tackle the current food security crisis in Karamoja. It is my hope that it will guide our interventions.
A few months ago I requested HE Chairman
@norbertmao
to train the Karamoja regional council. Yesterday he honored his word & he showed up at our first regional training. Not even news of insecurity could stop him! Indeed there are few Ugandans as RELIABLE as him. Apwoyo Ladit.
Matooke (Bananas) in Napak! Who said that this crop cannot grow in Karamoja? We will continue bursting these stereotypes until Uganda gets to understand us better.
@MAAIF_Uganda
Today I received from Rt Hon
@AnitahAmong
a personal contribution of UGX5m towards rescue of starving people in parts of Karamoja. This 5m will go to some HHs in the most hit districts ASAP. This is handy as we wait for processes for turning 135b into food. Ayeyeit Eyalama noi.
@DailyMonitor
Sadly all negative comments here are coming from men. Do the mother's of the unwanted children conceive on their own? Are there no men who are responsible for those pregnancies?
Be reminded that for every child whose DNA results turn negative & who suffers its consequences,
The Minister for Karamoja Affairs, The Hon
@DrKitutu
has apologized. She has done a noble thing. My lecturer once said that we shouldn't punish someone twice for the same offense. What is your say about this apology?
This is Karamoja! Here those who survive death by bullets are likely not to survive death by starvation. Look at this malnourished child waiting to die in Nabwal, Napak District. We need immediate rescue from all people of good will and in particular

Excitement of meeting my namesake for the first time! The Ambulance we gave to people of Napak rescued this mom & her baby who wouldn't have made it given the long distance to the nearest facility. That's how she got our name. Today I experienced the true meaning of fulfillment

This morning this food (300 bags) got delivered to Iriiri sub-county in Napak to rescue people in dire need of food. This is the first time Iriiri is receiving food aid, having lost tens to starvation. Thx to PM

Yesterday we flagged off 7 girls, 3 boys for a boarding vocational skilling course of 6 months. Over 10,000 youths in Napak are in dire need of vocational education to counter the MIGHTY challenge of UNEMPLOYMENT. This batch of 10 is a drop in the ocean.

Time for the farm! But how long will this rain last? Only God knows! Crop Farmers in Karamoja take risks yearly & often seasons disappoint but farmers won't give up next year even after making huge losses. This type of resilience is only here. Who exactly said that we are lazy?
Nabwal is the most fertile part of Napak, it is our food basket. In Feb 2022 insecurity forced us to run away, leaving our stores to criminals to waste. Upon return to Nabwal, there was nothing in stores. Now these children are at the verge of starving to death

Hubby & Wife dying in a trajjic motor accident reminds me of the pain I felt at the passing of my own parents years ago! Gone too soon Hon Bishop Okabe & Mrs! We shall miss you! May the family & people of Serere find comfort in The Lord. God be with you till we meet again. RIP
When your parents weren't lucky enough to have twins and then God decides thàt another family produces a copy of yourself.
I met Angelina for the first time and I agree we could be twins born to different families and different clans in the same district.
We reported Napak floods a month ago, to no action. Others raised theirs days ago & they got answers. All disasters should be treated as such. We must fight

About the traditional foods we enjoyed at Abim during the cultural event, tasty or yummy is an understatement. I cannot find a suitable English word to describe a meal so rich and healthy as this.

The annual Karamoja Cultural Event was splendid. Abim team of volunteers exceeded our expectations as they set the bar higher. Imagine sustaining a 6 day event without any external or gov't funding. With this type of zeal, nothing can stop Karamoja from achieving her aspirations.
At Poron Sub County, one of our food baskets of Napak District. Had an opportunity to listen in to Local Council leadership and a few community members. I enjoy every moment with these people, there is wisdom here.
I witnessed the dispatch of this food on 19/7/22. I confirm Napak received 600 bags & it is being served in 2/14 sub counties of Lotome & Iriiri. In some districts though, the food reached all HHs regardless of vulnerability.
@OPMUganda
this inequality amidst a crisis must stop!
This is Napak, 7 months later our trial on coffee, matooke and cashew nut is moving towards securing the future.
Yes we are relying on nature and we hope for success in the months ahead, The Lord being on our side. Risk taking of this nature is not for everyone.
I visited Lopeei P/school. You can see the desire for education is real. These children are donned in many colors to a point that the true School uniform cannot be noticed. Lopeei also leads in No of children in street begging. Today I encouraged them to study despite hinderances
Technological advancement offers both an opportunity and a risk for all sectors & to all factors of production including land.

It is our cardinal duty as human beings to end human trafficking. Just take a minute and imagine if it were you being trafficked. This version of slavery must stop!
