The reason I intentionally identify as Bisexual is because of the stigma I’ve received from both gay and heterosexual folks.
I know there’s a lot of discourse about us. But if you’re Bi & see this. I hope you’re receiving the love you deserve.
To be clear: I speak ill of the living too.
While y’all here. I’m Eris.
I wrote a book “BRUH: poems to pay for alimony”
I’m $1200 away from being liberated from my ex-husband. You can get the digital version at for $11.
Where your mask to the polls. Cause ain’t nobody else worried about your health. My polling location was filled with folks coughing & hacking unmasked.
My cousin fell last year waiting in long poll lines in Atlanta which put her in the hospital where she eventually passed from covid complications.
This country has shown time and time again they give zero fucks about disabled folks.
I think my 4+ commorbidity having ass will be staying home from the polls in 22 and 24. I think all disabled people should.
And before people come for me—if you think that’s enough people to make a difference but that you should be “encouraged” that we’re the ones at risk of
Y’all bullied Dr. Amy Acton out of doing life saving work for the state. And the cases have only gone up since her resignation. Now
@GovMikeDeWine
has tested positive. Make it make sense.
Sexuality is to be explored. It is to be enjoyed. And you are allowed to have access to intimacy without the threat of it escalating into a relationship or situationship. Just be clear & direct about your needs wants and desires.
I hope you can be your whole self.
I hope that your sense of self isn’t determined by other folks experience of your identity.
I hope you aren’t fetishized.
I wish you safety & clarity.
@melanatedmomma
This is why I advocate for learning to engage in intimacy without escalation. You can have beautiful experiences with people you’re not meant to be with for the long run. We rob ourselves of so much with those expectations.
The idea of someone “snapping back” after birth is so insidious. And it’s a terrible goal. Even if the body resumes its previous shape or size… nothing is the same.
Nothing.
I’m greeting this new body with so much grace.
I just had to pop in to say thank you to
@DrSamiSchalk
for always conjuring up some magic!
Tonight we danced on stage with
@JanelleMonae
. And they rubbed my 8.5 month pregnant belly. 🥹
Much gratitude to
@wondaland
🥰.
The way black man specifically handle their discomfort with being attracted to gender diverse femmes is mind boggling. Cause it’s just too much like right to be quiet and reckon with your feelings.
You gotta insult. You gotta harass. You gotta harm.
Grow up.
Y’all. I got a date on Thursday 🥹.
I need a bunch of dad jokes & puns to be prepared. I used all my good ones. They came out the gate swinging! Send help.
Because of mfs ignorance and transphobia… the guy who did my Limestone Massage in Jamaica asked me to take down the video.
I honestly don’t think for a minute that if I was thin and bright skinned with longer hair that it would’ve garnered that kind of attention.
@lmTheReasonWhy
Me and my best friend are platonic life partners and just got a 4 bedroom house for us and the kids.
They’ve given me the family structure I’ve always longed for.
I had a
#LongCovid
follow up appointment yesterday. And in that 20min call with a Black femme nurse practitioner told me “it’s not in your head” and gave name to the episodes I’ve had for a year+.
I wept the whole way through the call.
I got some new folks here. I’m Eris. A Disabled Black Bisexual artist, writer & advocate from Cleveland, OH.
Professionally I’m the Chief Equity Officer for Planned Parenthood of Greater OH. Personally I’m a solo-poly home chef that loves to travel.
This weekend I found my way back to the kitchen. I’ve had so much support in my postpartum journey that my body in many ways has healed “ahead of schedule”.
The healing I find in cooking is something I needed. I loved nursing this child while making a roux.
