.@AnnaLandmark just reading your book "The restless Republic". I'm only a bit in yet but it's absolutely spot-on. Many thanks!

@JonathanNichol4 It's an issue of storing and handling hydrogen safely. It makes petrol look like water in terms of fuel storage challenges.

@AlastairDalton Worth remembering that British Rail was doing 3 hrs KX-Newcastle over forty years ago. 4hrs KX-Edinburgh is not really so special.

@nealasher There's fussiness about food for sure, but that matter of letting fridges stand idle after transportation is no idle warning. I've heard of fridges wrecked because of neglect of that advice.

@JonathanNichol4 Reminds me of that old blog "Nightjar"'s advice. In dealing with police, 1) admit nothing 2) don't try to explain yourself 3) keep your mouth shut.

@nealasher They'll have to raise taxes for defence purposes alone, within 10 years from now, if the UK is still to exist as a meaningful country.

@minaflak @Scruton_Quotes The Labour Party is no more Communist than the Tories are right-wing. Not really.

@JonathanNichol4 @BBCr4today Maybe better hotels for war correspondents to stay in. Rough conditions in Darfur. You don't see much serious reportage from the Congo either. Although to be fair, access to Gaza is WAY easier than Sudan or Congo.

@nealasher To be fair he has some way to go to look less statesmanlike than Boris Johnson and to be less well dressed than Rishi Sunak.

@nealasher Replacing them with whom though? I suppose "no-one" would do, but I'm unconvinced of the efficacy of actual literal anarchy.

@DeadMeatGF It is true that we voted the #tories out rather than voting #Labour in. It's also true that Labour under SKS can be accused of being "Tory lite" and a bit lite on the "lite" at that. The challenge is, could genuine Socialism win a General Election?
