By now, you probably know that we live in some sort of simulation or dream world. (If you don’t, take some shrooms or DMT and see for yourself.)
In this simulation, things have to make sense not only on an objective level, but a subjective level.

2. More than any other film, Avatar is designed for cinema. And audiences know it.
If you saw Avatar at home, you know that it doesn’t come close to the 3D theatrical experience.
That’s good.

3. Most of today’s younger generation have never seen Avatar in 3D.
In fact, they might have never seen a film that was natively designed for 3D, from the ground up.
They're about to be mindblown.
Once they are, they’re going to tell their friends.
@officialavatar
1. It’s the sequel to the highest grossing film of all time.
That doesn’t happen by accident.
Something about Avatar resonated with audiences in 2009, and that same audience will be damn curious to see what
@JimCameron
came up with after 13 years.
@officialavatar
@JimCameron
It means you already know you’re going to see The Way of Water in 3D, on the biggest screen you can find.
Because streaming it later just won't cut it.
Some movies demand to be seen in cinemas. Avatar’s audience is already primed for this.
For many people, Avatar = 3D, IMAX.

4. We’re getting a brand new underwater world, with never-before-seen alien fauna and flora, brought to life with cutting-edge VFX.
As humans, we seek out novelty. Our brains love the new and exciting.
#AvatarTheWayOfTheWater
is going to reward that circuitry to the max.
@officialavatar
@JimCameron
When was the last time we got a truly epic movie in cinemas? A Gladiator. A Titanic. A Lord of the Rings. An Avatar.
There’s a reason Top Gun: Maverick did so well this year — put simply, it knew how to do epic, in every frame.
#AvatarTheWayOfTheWater
will deliver the epic.
@THR
Objectively, it’s a bit stretch. A bit outlandish.
Subjectively, it’s a brilliant move in the simulation.
And anyway, the simulation has been favouring outlandish story for the last couple of years. Haven’t you noticed?
See you at the 3 billion mark ;)

6. Cameron makes films for repeat viewings.
You don't go to see a Cameron film. You go to experience it, again and again.
The box office success of Titanic and Avatar was driven by repeat viewers. I don't think for a moment that this fact escapes Cameron.

5. Let’s face it:
@JimCameron
has a talent for creating epics that resonate with vast audiences.
Has any other director been able to tune into what global audiences truly want quite like Cameron?
He not only gives the audience what they want, he exceeds their expectations.
@officialavatar
@JimCameron
In the same way that the first Avatar broke new ground with its VFX… this one will break new ground with its underwater sequences.
There was a novelty factor in Avatar, and there will be a novelty factor with The Way of Water.
We love seeing something new and unexpected.
@THR
For example, don’t you find it a bit strange that Cameron breaks the world box office record with Titanic, and then proceeds to beat his own record with Avatar?
Objectively, it’s a little bit out there. If someone wrote a novel with this storyline, it would be a bit unrealistic.
7. There’s a spiritual, dreamlike component to Avatar that permeates the film. The film connects to audiences on a subconscious level, perhaps deeper than they realize.
(There’s even a deleted scene in Avatar where Jake takes a plant medicine that strongly resembles Ayahuasca…)
“Man attracts what he is. The art of life is to sustain the feeling of the wish fulfilled and let things come to you, not to go after them or think they flee away.”

9. One last point…
So far we’ve looked at the objective reasons why Avatar: The Way of Water might break box office records.
But let’s look at it from the subjective side as well…
@officialavatar
@JimCameron
I expect Cameron to have crafted The Way of Water not simply to be a great film, but as an all-out experience that entices repeat viewings in cinemas.
From the tech side (3D, 48fps HFR) to the visuals (majestic vistas), every aspect of this film will be designed to create awe.
@THR
“I want to tell an epic story over a number of films,” Cameron told
@THR
. “Let’s paint on a bigger canvas. Let’s do The Lord of the Rings.”
“Hopefully, we get to tell the whole thing because five’s better than four, four’s better than three, and three’s better than two.”
@THR
To me, the fact that Cameron has committed decades of his life, his energy, and his dedication to creating four sequels means he’s committed to creating something truly special here.
He’s not making a me-too sequel. He’s all in.
And I’m all in for it, too.
8. Cameron’s openly discussed how he resisted doing an Avatar sequel for years until he knew he could do something special.
“I was actually the one putting the brakes on it and saying, ‘I don’t know if I want to go down this road again,’” Cameron told
@THR
.
Ask yourself this simple question. How would I feel if I were free? The very moment you sincerely ask this question the answer comes.

@THR
And yet, subjectively, it makes sense.
There’s a certain poetic symbolism that the “king of the world” beats his own record, against all odds.
If this was a simulation or a dream world, it would be a pretty entertaining story to play out as a dream character.
@THR
Cameron even threw out an entire script for Avatar 2 after he realized it didn’t meet his standards for what an Avatar sequel should be.
The writing process, which included finishing all four scripts before calling “action” on anything, took four years.

@THR
The stakes are higher than ever for Avatar: The Way of Water.
And yet, from a story and dream world perspective, it would be a hell of a plot line if Cameron goes on to beat his own record…
…again!
Three times in a row!
In a dream world, it makes poetic and symbolic sense.
“Train yourself to occupy more frequently the feeling of your wish fulfilled. This is creative magic. It is the way to work toward fusion with the desired state.”
— Neville Goddard
I believe that same spiritual component is going to be present in the sequels, and it’s going to touch the subconscious of the audience.
If Cameron succeeds in moving us at our deepest core, emotionally and spiritually, there’s no limit to how well this film can do.
@THR
The best stories makes sense subjectively and objectively.
They move us, teach us, entertain us, throw a wrench in our plans, and introduce ever increasing stakes.
And Cameron’s life story is full of the highest stakes, challenges, and winning against the odds.
So what is faith? Faith is simply the holding on to a mental picture FOR LONG ENOUGH such that it can result in a matching outer, physical reality. When viewed in this light, then we know there is nothing mysterious about faith. We also know that it is not "blind" faith. In fact
