For y’all just tuning in, wondering who #AndyBeshear is— He’s the Democrat who vetoed the worst anti-trans bill in the US while running for re-election in a “deep red” state against Trump’s candidate. And then won by 5 points. Our country could learn a thing or two from him 💙

Here in Fayette County, our Urban County Council voted to raise the minimum wage way back in 2016. The KY Supreme Court decided to block it. $7.25/hr wasn’t a living wage in 2016 and it certainly isn’t in 2023. It’s past time to raise KY’s minimum wage to at least $15/hr.

Great to speak with @LEX18News about our campaign! It’s true—Lexington has an affordable housing crisis. The burden is falling disproportionately on renters, young people, & those that don’t have a seat at the table on our Council. I’m running to change that. #EmmaForCouncil

Y’all, 2023 has been an absolutely brutal year on so many levels. But it’s also proven to me just how deeply good the people in my community and my Commonwealth are. I’m more proud than ever to be a Kentuckian and a Lexingtonian. I’ve got a good feeling about 2024… 💙

Y’all often hear me talk about showing up, doing the work, and leading with love. That means more than just supporting our party of choice during campaign season. It means being active in our community, meeting people where they’re at, and inviting them in with open arms to

Dropped my 1st round of thank you notes to donors in the mail. We’ve already received more donations than both of my opponents combined did in the 2022 primary—& we haven’t even launched our campaign yet! I’m immensely grateful for each & every one of y’all 💙 #EmmaForCouncil

FUND 👏 PUBLIC 👏 EDUCATION 👏 I attended both private and public schools. I’ve seen it firsthand—we have a two-tiered education system in KY. It doesn’t matter how much money a child’s family makes, EVERY child in our Commonwealth has the right to a quality public education.

Robby Mills’ top priority during the 2022 session was to pass legislation ensuring that a lone 12 year old girl couldn’t play field hockey. Folks, the Republican Party is not sending their best…

“This thing happened to Breonna. But the thing of it is, it could happen to anybody. And for Cameron, it's clear that he doesn't care who it happens to.” In absolute awe of Tamika Palmer💙 I’m voting for Breonna, now & always. #BreonnaTaylor #SayHerName

A week ago, @JColemanKY reminded us—“it’s not what happens to you, it’s how you react to it that matters” Now she’s embodying that idea, turning a moment of great personal difficulty into an opportunity for education. My prayers are with her & her family for a speedy recovery💙

“Gender ideology” is an amorphous term that holds no academic bearing & has no coherent definition. Anti-trans activists created it to stir a moral panic over trans folks’ mere existence. I am pleading with y’all to stop using that term and giving it any credence whatsoever.

This #WomensEqualityDay , I want to take a moment to honor a personal hero of mine, Sen. Georgia Davis Powers. A prominent leader in the Civil Rights Movement, she coordinated the 1964 March on Frankfort with Dr. King. Just a couple of years later, she became the first woman

I support a ban on source of income discrimination in Lexington. I also know that our state & local gov need to collaborate, not antagonize. That’s why, in addition to attending this week’s council meetings, I testified in Frankfort along with sitting CMs against HB18 & SB25 👇

The Family Foundation—a fringe right-wing lobbying group intent on enforcing a white Christian nationalist agenda in KY—is the embodiment of evil. Their stranglehold on the legislature must end NOW. Legislators need to hear from real KY families, not these imposters. #kyga24

Those most qualified to serve in public office often feel the most unqualified. Having political science degrees or friends in high places doesn’t qualify you. It’s your lived experiences, passion, & desire to learn & lead that qualify you. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
