If you haven't called your Senator to support the Democratic filibuster or tell them to vote NO on Vought, do it NOW! (Or if you have, call again.) If you care about the existence of our constitutional democracy, they need to feel you're behind them/ holding them accountable.

Literally the "Go Birds" breath was IN MY LUNGS. My mouth had opened. Then: oysters! Not a flying eagle! Two oysters! Although the more I think about it, the more I am actually sorry I didn't just yell "Go Birds" anyway and disappear into the wind

I am very touched - it always feels especially insightful if there's a long German word attached to the concept. But I am hoping for more insightful ideas out of your 2025!
@ellen_adair The most insightful idea I learned in 2025 was from you. It was that we like sports stories because they allow younger people to connect to themes of mortality and end of opportunity (what the Germans call Torschlusspanik) that one normally encounters late in life.
