@EliMcCann PS And it works for the already hardened brown sugar, you put that apple in and stick it in the microwave for seconds and boom - perfectly soft brown sugar. (It's not like sugar goes bad).

@EliMcCann Well, that happens in the best of families because I think they do something to brown sugar to make it go hard and then you have to buy new brown sugar ... anyway, I read that if you put a small piece of apple in the container with the brown sugar it keeps it soft.
