Because the tech is the entire point of the movie. How technology and its advancements contribute to horrifying ways people can abuse and stalk you. If he was just an invisible guy, that message goes down the drain.
@JaceDiehl
Spongebob is already a show with fucked continuity. Do not contribute to that by breaking the few rules it did establish. (Sandy and Spongebob didn’t meet until adulthood, Spongebob only met Krabs when he got his job, etc.).
@hernandy_s
@GunnerDobbins
When they talk about One Piece, you know they’re making it live action so everyone can experience this story.
When they talk about Avatar, you know they’re making it live action because they think they’re making it better (i.e. they’re above it)
@K4pp4_8
The blend of Connie’s feelings about her mom with Pink Diamond’s memories was such a brilliant piece of multi-tiered storytelling here.
(Also Stevonnie with stubble is such a great little opening for discussion of gender identity)
@MaceAhWindu
“I’m condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them. I burn my decency for someone else’s future. I burn my life for a sunrise I know I’ll never see!”
@AerosoulGFX
GMOD A game where you can just spawn anything in a fuck around sandbox with no end or goal is the most boring concept ever. I prefer games with structure and clear challenges and goals. Even AAA open world games have clear things to do and structured objectives.
@FlorbFnarb
@IanArt37
@ac_hutchens
No such thing as a wrong tone. You can’t look at films by what’s right and wrong and have to engage with the film as presented in good faith.
@weakwr1st
Groundbreaking take: If you removed something that made the movie good, the movie would no longer be good. Truly ahead of your time with that searing insight.
@klydinious
@geoffkeene
I’d like to draw a quote from Shammy, “I’d take a 5 hour game worth playing twice over a 10 hour game barely worth playing once.”
@Captain63857795
@CultureCrave
@empiremagazine
Nah, if they did that, then it would take away from the energy and hype of that scene as people would meme the first ever F bomb in Star Wars to death and ruin it forever.
@fandompulse
1. Woke just means aware of social injustice which is a very big part of the X-Men
2. Who honestly cares if Morph is nonbinary now? What do you lose with his story if he’s referred to as they?
@ComicsAsh
How about have him take it seriously but like, super professionally. The arc could be about him loosening up and forming connections with people after a lifetime of staying resolute and isolated to shut away distractions to his job of being the Avatar.
@drsoap8
@LanternJS
He looks like he was sculpted out of rubbery fecal matter and the fact that this scene and the final battle are the only things people prop up indicate that the rest of the movie probably has very little worth propping up.
@FlorbFnarb
@IanArt37
@ac_hutchens
No, that’s not the same thing. You can understand what they’re going for and engage with what the movies trying to be and still not like it. But you’re arguing that it should only be the way you want it.
@JaceDiehl
This doesn’t make sense. Why are they making a spin off/prequel when the show itself is still airing new episodes? They already have spongebob airing. They don’t need to make yet another one. Especially when it’s against a creator’s wishes and is made immediately after he dies...
@kingbchalla
Considering this is the same face he makes regardless of crushing or sad moments, yeah.
There’s barely any perceptible change in his demeanor.
@YummyThicc3D
@NoodleVEVO
@Real_Jectell
So you’ve just straight up missed the point. We’re literally saying criticize the multimillion dollar company but leave the poor people forced to work under their conditions out of it. Please learn to read.
@D4hz4hn
Love the super secret agent (who never appears in the rest of the film) asking Peter to change in a unlocked room, with everyone right outside, at a rest stop where he’s expected to be back in minutes.
@Revel741
@AmanWithbadOpin
@cosmiczorel
The problem with the ending is that thematically it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the rest of the game. In Sixth Sense the twist was intrinsically tied into the theme of the story. Here, it’s just a twist that exists to be a twist and nothing else.
@DevilsAd4cate
@Pollos_Hernandy
Literally every director has a "worst movie" simply by nature of it not being as good as the other ones. Like how Fellowship is technically the worst LOTR simply by not being as incredible as the latter two. But whatever keeps your weird Snyder boner going...
The more I hear the more I get the vibe that SUPERMAN will be for Superman what The Batman was for Batman. A semi-origin showing the young but still pre-established hero further growing into their own rather than a straight up origin story.
@D4hz4hn
And the attack doesn’t even happen until night, meaning he didn’t even have to change then…all these stupid decisions and contrivances just to give us the godawful scene where Peter almost murders his class with a drone.
@slattwilson
@filmsbyhen
1. It really doesn’t.
2. The reason they’re all wearing the same outfit with color changes is because they’re gonna be corporate based stooges.
@fawfulator
“It always fits. Eventually.”
Perfect line. Can be read as an emotional sum up of the movie’s themes or as
“You’re gonna HAVE to make that shit fit. Good luck.”
@DougFairchild
Hey remember when ESB invented the force power to lift things? Remember when ROTJ invented the force power to shoot lightning? Remember how even the OT was making up new force powers to fit the story? And this was just a one off force deflection that we’ve seen before?
@GrumpyCatterman
@ComicLoverMari
He did prove himself right. He solved the problem without killing anyone and showed the world that it is possible while showing how scary a moral free hero would be. His big lesson was that it’s possible to save the day and stop villains without acting like an executioner.
@KyleWil80769731
@JinkiesJerrica
If you’re playing the game for your own self amusement, then you’re not an ally. Your self satisfaction came first before a struggling community. You’re not an ally at all.
@willllance
@LESBIAM1TY
@TW0_SW0RDS_
We learned that when PB was willing to let Finn and Jake get thrown in prison for not doing anything because she couldn’t swallow her pride for two seconds to admit that magic is real.
@elicomicss_
@TheQuiver_
Every cast member was given dull lines but they at least made SOMETHING of it. Hell, Peter Dinklage filmed his scenes for Infinity War all alone and still managed to make it work really well.
@captainsandoz
@MCUMarvels
And even then the line is “Is THAT what just happened?” In response to Tony saying “finally somebody speaks English” to Banner’s nearly inscrutable scientific commentary. So the joke is moreso old man Cap’s disbelief that what he heard was understandable English.
@GetmemySandwich
@hypersonic_
@RishSkywalker
@Stuntman_MIK3
And what does that have to do with an acting performance? They weren’t even talking about Black Widow…if you really feel the need to throw an unrelated movie under the bus for no reason you just show how little of an argument you have…
@GunnerDobbins
I love how flabbergasted L is when he broadcasts. He’s like “wow that was a total shot in the dark. I legit did not think you’d fall for that.”
@SidAlpha
Tolkien himself said he used allegory in his story in spite of his dislike. He didn’t just…not use allegory in his story because he disliked them.
His main point in the quote was tying a story down to a single message. He never said he hated allegory altogether.
@idowikeit
@DiscussingFilm
You realize that
A. He wasn’t going all out on Peter just fucking with him to get the box
B. He didn’t see it coming because his attention was on the portal home
Right?
@weakwr1st
Film is a visual medium. If you can get the same effect by just reading the book, you failed to make a good movie. The visuals tell the story just as much as the dialogue. That’s how film has always worked.
@nasstyyn8
@PikeOfHope
@hernandy_s
She didn’t specifically attempt to murder them. She wanted to destroy the bunker and was desperate to keep the weapons out of their hands.
@Browntable_Ent
@TheQuiver_
The bit where he just goes “Try me, Beyoncé” is even worse IMO. Because unlike the other one it’s not even a joke. It’s just a name.
@GrumpyCatterman
@ComicLoverMari
Did…did you watch the movie? He had every robot on civilian protection and didn’t hurt anyone. He knew exactly how this would go. And his principles never said “depowering a supervillain is bad”.
@DynamoSuperX
Because the joke with those shows is how awful and fucked up the parent is. At the end of the day, both you and the show laugh at how horrible a parent they are.
Here: Locking Penny out was portrayed as a “yass queen” moment that was ultimately for her benefit as a person.
@MatthewKadish
My guy. They just said “don’t be racist”. Not “all our fans are racist”. If “don’t be racist” gets you THIS heated that says more about you than if you just said “I AM FUCKING RACIST”
@Cartoonbrains
Shazam tried to do the same joke but it doesn’t work as well as here because
A. It’s perfectly in character for Po to be so wrapped up in his reality he doesn’t realize how actual reality works, compared to the serious smart villain of Shazam
B. Timing, editing and joke length
@YummyThicc3D
@NoodleVEVO
@Real_Jectell
The person above literally said the people who made the game aren’t working hard. That’s not just shitting on blizzard’s business practices. That’s directly shitting on the people making the game under that management. Which is unfair.
@DougFairchild
The force isn’t some rpg style checklist with specific powers. It’s an ever changing ambiguous energy that you can feel and manipulate with understanding and breaking down of your own mental inhibitions. It’s spelled out as such in ESB by Yoda.
@bestfanjoker
@Lunwi88
He gets the main character arc and the most screentime. He learns to be able to let go control after going through the movies thinking he has the answers and only he can make the right choices. By the end, he’s willing to admit his weakness and let someone else hold the knife.
@shadowpika655
@illjoy_
@comicyehu
It’s not just being an “everyman”. The gag behind Emmet is that he’s so unremarkable on every level that nobody could possibly guess he’d be a hero. That’s why Pratt worked for the role. That laid back bland generic energy doesn’t work for a character as distinct as Mario.
@ValiantThhor
@snyder_all
Ah disrespecting the original work that brought these characters to us to begin with just to uplift your broody edgelord trash. You Snyder riders have no shame whatsoever.
@venomynora
@jeremylovesyall
Pfft. That’d require them to be actually decisive and not change their minds on how a scene should look 30 times before release.
@bluesuns_
Yes. In animation that separation from reality allows you to still frame her as an imposing threat even if canonically she’s 14.
That doesn’t exist in live action, so it’s just a baby face trying to be taken seriously.
