EJA supports @ACOSS #RaisetheRate campaign, which they are taking to Parliament again this morning. ACOSS is asking for the rate of JobSeeker, Youth Allowance, Parenting Payment and related payments to be raised to at least $82 a day — the same level as the pension.

While DSP eligibility criteria has seen reform in the last couple of years, unfairness remains. Alongside the abolition of this defective requirement, we would like to see employment services that treat people with disability with dignity, i.e. through opt-in services. #IDPWD

We welcomed yesterday's announcement by Govt of sweeping reforms to Centrepay, which has long been used by predatory businesses as a vehicle for financial abuse. Most changes are set to commence from 1 July 2025. Our media release here:
