@CurtisLaraque @ArkhamMoon Then argue that, I guess. She made an absolutely ludicrous and damning accusation on very little evidence. That seems pretty bad to me.

@BambxisForest @biggestjoel @hausofdecline If you made that video, and it didn't copy the specific things said in Joel's, then it wouldn't be plagiarism. You're allowed to make things that have the same concept as other people's things.

@BigAreolaEnthus @mugabist @mustachetoilet However, you will also not hang out with her because she's a terrible person. She was rejected by bigots, and then put all her energy into alienating everyone else who was rejected by bigots. That is worth laughing at.

@Xenoimpulse Yeah, this is exactly what I was thinking. It's all history of the field and early results, which is great when you're not sure what you're interested in but not so great if you are pursuing a particular path in life.

@Pirlo_Prop @Gingerroot775 @JeremyTate41 And, for an actual practicing mathematician or philosopher, more recent work is going to be highly pertinent to what they do. Basically, this curriculum is 100% gen ed with little of the critical specialization typically offered to undergrad students

@TheRealFitzroy @LockedOutKate @kareem_carr "After" is doing a lot of work in this sentence. You don't actually have a basis for causation.

@TheRealFitzroy @LockedOutKate @kareem_carr You don't have science. You have a weird Manhattan Institute nonsense merchant.

@TheRealFitzroy @LockedOutKate @kareem_carr We will never really know if something like police defunding would have helped or harmed the pertinent communities, because the few cities that committed to such a thing immediately backtracked.

@TheRealFitzroy @LockedOutKate @kareem_carr There is no effort across either of these papers to tie an increase in violence to some specific advocacy by BLM. The only source that does make such an attempt is, again, the weird conservative liar. So, yeah, I'm sticking with, "There isn't data supporting this."

@TheRealFitzroy @LockedOutKate @kareem_carr Sounds like the kind of thing I would say. Are you a person who provided that data at some point?

@LockedOutKate @kareem_carr The problem, again, is that "echo chambers" as described do not exist. There is no group on this planet whose attitudes are totally uniform. So, discussing echo chambers as a real phenomenon is mistaken.

@LockedOutKate @kareem_carr Okay, then my objection is that getting upset at "echo chambers" is like getting upset about the great war going on between unicorns and fairies.
