@B_ReinsbergCPA And it's always important to remember that the taxpayer needs to show reasonable cause--and if the issue was due to a tax pro oversight, Boyle tends to push the courts to deny reasonable cause.

@howardmorin @ScuderiaFerrari Well, the 1991 US Grand Prix in Phoenix did have Alain Prost come 2nd in a Ferrari. But there was still a Honda powered car that came in 1st (McLaren at that time) with Senna in it. And the rest of the year was disappointing for Prost.

@cordes_tax I'd also suggest giving more than enough details in the claim to make it clear this is *NOT* an off the wall extreme supply chain claim.

@Narfnampil @ForemanTaxLaw Undergraduate accounting programs are slavishly devoted to the CPA exam topics, and the exam only looks at specific rules for a prior year, so that's what is taught. Where those rules come from isn't something that will be asked on the exam.

@Narfnampil @ForemanTaxLaw I actually had coverage of the issues in an undergraduate "optional" second semester of tax, but if you just took what was required any coverage would have been minimal. Accounting curriculums don't really cover that unless you are going for a Masters of Tax.

@ForemanTaxLaw Ah, one of those "pick an answer the client wants" and then simply refuse to look to see if there's any support whatsoever for that answer types...

@ForemanTaxLaw Instead they attempt to "reason" from "the rules" they believe exist (again, no real source for those "rules") and go from there. 2/2

@Anthonyjdjd I would also note that some state accountancy board regulations still prohibit witholding those documents even if there is a fee dispute (the prior AICPA Code of Conduct rule) so you always need to check the state rule.
