Something needs to change with grassroots football. Kids are losing interest. The PL can throw £450m at a transfer window. £0 ends up with kids.

The teams in our league alone will pay over £12,500 to the council for pitch fees, times that by 4/5 leagues in our great city, WOW that’s over £50k…do you think they will re-invest that to maintain the pitches…I doubt it 😡😡 let the kids play for free 👏🏻👏🏻

UPDATE: A nine-year-old boy has sadly died following an incident on a football field shortly after 5.05pm today. Although enquiries are still ongoing, we believe the boy was struck by lightning. Our thoughts are with the boy's family at this sad time. School Road has reopened.
