The problem is a good product and support are the bare minimum and not enough. I know it’s what people wanna hear but good luck ignoring marketing/distribution/sales.
Just met a dude making $4M/year at 90% profit and never did an ounce of marketing. His playbook: 1. build products within a big platform ecosystem (e.g. wordpress app store) 2. put all of his focus into good product and top tier customer support. 3. This led to 5 star reviews which pushed them to the top of the app store 4. which led to most people finding his app organically 5. and further led to influencers in the space sharing his apps organically with their audience Smart. Can't wait to share his story on the channel.
