If the students can't hear the teacher teaching, then there is an issue. There are also other times where there is a natural silence that occurs, where pupils are working on a solo task and are focused on that. Plenty of time for non-silent activities as well - just about picking the right things for your class

@ShakinthatChalk I’ve a washer dryer in my current place, rarely use the dryer as I have to take two thirds of the washing out to use it properly or else it takes hours so I don’t really use it. Washing machine only gave me more options like short washes etc.
