I remember fleeing #Rwanda in 1994 as @PaulKagame’s army unleashed mass killings. Thirty years later, my heart aches as I witness people still running for their lives from the same army, now operating under the guise of #M23. Kagame and his @rpfinkotanyi regime never intended to save anyone or bring positive change, as they claim. Their mission has always been power, control, and wealth; no matter the cost. At the core of this decades-long bloodshed lies Kagame’s insatiable greed for #DRC’s vast minerals. The people of eastern Congo have been slaughtered, displaced, and terrorized for over 30 years, paying the ultimate price for #PaulKagame’s ambition and the world’s silence. How many more lives must be lost? How long will Kagame’s allies fund and arm this criminal regime while turning a blind eye to the destruction? The lives of millions should matter more than corporate profits and political alliances. When will sanctions and legal actions follow? 💔 My heart goes out to every Congolese and Rwandan victim of this brutal war for economic gain. #KagameMustGo #Genocost #RwandaIsKilling #JusticeForCongo #CongoIsBleeding #Burundi #Africa #Genocide @FT @guardian @SkyNews @BBCAfrica @VOAAfrica @EU_Commission @EUCouncil @_AfricanUnion @UN @SADC_News @UrugwiroVillage @Presidence_RDC @GeneralNeva @kayikwambaT @RDCongoMAE @PatrickMuyaya @landrysibo @NLinRwanda @StateDept @marcorubio @USAmbUN @USAmbRwanda @ambafrancerwa @UKinRwanda @GermanyinRwanda @CanadainRwanda @SwedeninRW @UNRwanda @EUinRW @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @BotengaM @ElsVanHoofcdenv @Smith_JeffreyT @geoffreyyork @GerardAraud @ThierryMARIANI @GieGoris @KemiBadenoch @idrissaberkane @joerogan @africaarguments @MarksSimon @palkisu @ClareDalyIRL @elonmusk @tomvdkendelaere @LewisMudge

The international community’s perception of @PaulKagame’s regime is changing slowly. Peter Verlinden @PVerlindenJst noted that countries like the US and the Netherlands have begun gradually reducing their financial aid to #Rwanda, signaling growing discomfort with its authoritarian practices. While reduction in aid is a positive step, it remains insufficient to address Rwanda’s widespread human rights abuses fully. The core issue lies in the West’s tendency to prioritize stability and economic interests over human rights concerns. 🔗 🔗 #KagameMustGo #Genocost #RwandaIsKilling #JusticeForCongo #CongoIsBleeding #Burundi #Africa #Genocide #DRC #Uganda #Kenya #Tanzania #SouthAfrica @FT @guardian @SkyNews @BBCAfrica @VOAAfrica @EU_Commission @EUCouncil @_AfricanUnion @UN @SADC_News @UrugwiroVillage @Presidence_RDC @GeneralNeva @kayikwambaT @RDCongoMAE @PatrickMuyaya @landrysibo @NLinRwanda @StateDept @marcorubio @USAmbUN @USAmbRwanda @ambafrancerwa @UKinRwanda @GermanyinRwanda @CanadainRwanda @SwedeninRW @UNRwanda @EUinRW @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @BotengaM @ElsVanHoofcdenv @Smith_JeffreyT @geoffreyyork @GerardAraud @ThierryMARIANI @GieGoris @KemiBadenoch @idrissaberkane @joerogan @africaarguments @MarksSimon @palkisu @ClareDalyIRL @elonmusk @tomvdkendelaere

The previous elections in #Rwanda once again exposed the country’s profound democratic deficit. The overwhelming, Stalinist victory claimed by @PaulKagame mirrors the patterns of past elections, where outcomes were predetermined, and opposition voices silenced. 🔗 The regime of #PaulKagame rules the country with absolute control and has no intention of offering Rwandans an alternative form of governance. It only tolerates token candidates without real political weight to create the illusion of free and transparent elections. Women, in particular, face significant discrimination. Their candidacies for the highest office are systematically rejected on false pretexts. This is not the first time that the electoral commission, infiltrated by the @rpfinkotanyi, has invalidated Diane Rwigara’s candidacy. In 2017, she was also arbitrarily excluded from the presidential race. Let us also recall the case of @VictoireUmuhoza Ingabire. Despite a ruling from the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights ordering that she be reinstated in her political rights, and despite her compliance with all imposed conditions after her release in 2018, she was barred from running in the presidential elections. For a country that prides itself on making gender equality its flagship cause; with 61% female representation in parliament and women occupying more than half of ministerial positions; it is incomprehensible and, above all, regrettable that none of these women have spoken out against the discrimination faced by their fellow women. This is a perfect illustration; and something we have always maintained; that the women in the RPF’s political sphere are carefully selected for propaganda purposes. In reality, they have no real influence on political life beyond serving as mere decoration. In any case, Rwandan women are still far from the emancipation that Paul #Kagame’s regime would have us believe. I salute the determination of all the courageous women who dare to challenge the RPF #dictatorship. #Africa #KagameMustGo @FT @guardian @SkyNews @BBCAfrica @VOAAfrica @EU_Commission @EUCouncil @_AfricanUnion @UN @SADC_News @UrugwiroVillage @Presidence_RDC @GeneralNeva @kayikwambaT @RDCongoMAE @PatrickMuyaya @landrysibo @NLinRwanda @StateDept @marcorubio @USAmbUN @USAmbRwanda @ambafrancerwa @UKinRwanda @GermanyinRwanda @CanadainRwanda @SwedeninRW @UNRwanda @EUinRW @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @BotengaM @ElsVanHoofcdenv @Smith_JeffreyT @geoffreyyork @GerardAraud @ThierryMARIANI @GieGoris @KemiBadenoch @idrissaberkane @joerogan @africaarguments @MarksSimon @palkisu @ClareDalyIRL @elonmusk @tomvdkendelaere

Dear @JohnLegend, I am neither a fan nor do I listen to your music, but like many before me, I am reaching out to draw your attention to the ongoing human rights violations in the Democratic Republic of Congo #DRC; atrocities fueled by the @RwandaGov, under the leadership of dictator @PaulKagame. If you truly stand for justice, peace, and humanity, I urge you to cancel your participation in #MoveAfrika, organized by @GlblCtzn. Performing under the banner of a government complicit in war crimes, genocide, and mass atrocities in Eastern DRC would be akin to collaborating with oppression itself. The Rwandan-backed M23 rebels, along with RDF soldiers, have been responsible for mass killings, the systematic rape of women, the displacement of millions, and the looting of DRC’s critical minerals; all fueling further instability. Will you use your voice for the voiceless, or will you stand with the oppressors? #CongoIsBleeding #StopKagame #NoToMoveAfrika #KagameMustGo #Africa #Genocost #Genocide @FT @guardian @SkyNews @BBCAfrica @VOAAfrica @EU_Commission @EUCouncil @_AfricanUnion @UN @SADC_News @UrugwiroVillage @Presidence_RDC @GeneralNeva @kayikwambaT @RDCongoMAE @PatrickMuyaya @landrysibo @NLinRwanda @StateDept @marcorubio @USAmbUN @USAmbRwanda @ambafrancerwa @UKinRwanda @GermanyinRwanda @CanadainRwanda @SwedeninRW @UNRwanda @EUinRW @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @BotengaM @ElsVanHoofcdenv @Smith_JeffreyT @geoffreyyork @GerardAraud @ThierryMARIANI @GieGoris @KemiBadenoch @idrissaberkane @joerogan @MarksSimon @palkisu @ClareDalyIRL @elonmusk @LewisMudge

#Rwanda: Those who dare to challenge @PaulKagame or are merely perceived as dissenting from the @RwandaGov narrative are frequently arrested and silenced under baseless or politically motivated charges. 🔗 Many never receive a fair trial. Some face dire consequences; including enforced disappearances or even death while in authorities' custody. The tragic case of Kizito Mihigo, a beloved gospel singer, is a stark example of the regime’s control over the legal system. Arrested in 2020 for allegedly attempting to flee the country, he was found dead in his prison cell shortly after. Authorities ruled it a suicide, but the absence of a thorough, independent investigation only highlights Rwanda’s prevailing culture of impunity. As @hrw’s report "Join Us or Die" reveals, the Rwandan government’s security forces have consistently used extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances to eliminate any perceived threats to #Kagame’s rule. #KizitoMihigo #RwOX #Africa #HumanRightsViolations #Dictatorship #PaulKagame @GeneralNeva @Presidence_RDC @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @NLinRwanda @StateDept @marcorubio @USAmbUN @USAmbRwanda @ambafrancerwa @UKinRwanda @GermanyinRwanda @CanadainRwanda @SwedeninRW @AfricanUnion @UNRwanda @EUinRW @hrw @HRF @VOAAfrica @BBCAfrica @DeutscheWelle @idrissaberkane @africasacountry @VanguardAfrica @africaarguments @FbdnStories @LQSomos @ajplus @AfUncensored @ResistBureau @PatrickMuyaya @ZEMBLA @thecontinent @freedomnoworg @liberalinternat

#Rwanda’s involvement in the #DRC is defined by the exploitation of the region’s natural resources, deliberate creation of instability, and grave human rights violations, perpetuating conflict and suffering in eastern Congo. 1. Exploitation of Congolese Minerals Numerous reports, including those from UN panels of experts and international NGOs, highlight Rwanda's alleged involvement in the illegal trade of DRC minerals, especially coltan, gold, and other precious minerals. Rwanda's economy has been linked to exports of resources that do not originate from within its borders but rather from the mineral-rich eastern DRC. - The UN Group of Experts documented Rwanda’s links to illegal mineral exploitation. - Global Witness and Amnesty International reports point to extensive smuggling networks involving M23 rebels, backed by @PaulKagame’s government, controlling mining areas and funneling minerals through Rwandan markets. - Rwanda's official exports of minerals like coltan have surged despite the country’s limited domestic reserves, raising suspicions about resource extraction from DRC. 2. Sexual Violence and Human Rights Violations Rwandan-backed terrorist group M23, is implicated in systematic rapes, sexual violence, and atrocities in eastern DRC. - Human Rights Watch has detailed cases of rape used as a weapon of war by rebel groups associated with Rwanda. - The United Nations identified incidents of mass rapes and other abuses, implicating M23 and aligned forces. - Victims from conflict zones frequently recount abuses attributed to armed groups linked to foreign interests, including Rwanda, using sexual violence to terrorize local populations. 3. Creation of Instability for Strategic Gains Rwanda’s support for the M23 and similar rebel movements in eastern Congo is a deliberate strategy to destabilize the region, allowing for continued influence over resource-rich territories. Rwanda’s military presence in the DRC has nothing to do with defensive actions against security threats. The economic exploitation, human rights abuses, and a strategy of regional destabilization are all driven by resource control and appropriation. #Genocost #Genocide #Africa #KagameMustGo #RwandaIsKilling

The root cause of #Rwanda’s harmful interventions in the region lies in its undemocratic governance. @PaulKagame’s administration has long been suppressing political opposition, silencing dissent, and violating human rights. Independent journalists, political activists, and critics of the regime are routinely harassed, arrested, and even forcibly disappeared. One glaring example is the case of journalist Niyonsenga Dieudonné, also known as Cyuma Hassan, who has been unjustly imprisoned for exposing government corruption and human rights abuses. His persecution, along with that of numerous other independent voices, demonstrates the lengths to which Kagame’s government will go to maintain absolute control. Human Rights Watch and other international watchdogs have consistently called out Rwanda’s government for its crackdown on press freedom, arbitrary detentions, and extrajudicial killings. The Rwandan Patriotic Front @rpfinkotanyi regime has weaponized state institutions to silence opposition and has created an atmosphere of fear where free expression is virtually impossible. Rwanda’s government, instead of fostering democracy and accountability, has chosen a path of repression and regional aggression. The international community must take a firm stance against Kagame’s authoritarian rule. Western nations and international organizations that have long supported #PaulKagame, including through aid and diplomatic backing, must acknowledge that Kagame’s regime is a threat not only to democracy in Rwanda but also to peace in the Great Lakes region. It is imperative to confront and condemn the injustices linked to @PaulKagame’s regime, but true resolution requires more than diplomatic overtures; it calls for decisive action; accountability, targeted sanctions against complicit actors, and unwavering support for Congolese sovereignty, alongside justice and reparations for the victims. Without true democracy in Rwanda, there can be no lasting peace in the region. Kagame’s continued militarization, suppression of civil liberties, and interference in neighboring countries are clear indications that his government prioritizes power over people. The world must not turn a blind eye to these atrocities. Strong diplomatic pressure, targeted sanctions against those responsible for human rights violations, and increased support for democratic movements within the Rwandan community are necessary steps toward achieving stability in the region. Only then can the cycle of exploitation, conflict, and human suffering be broken. Democracy is not just an ideal; it is the only path forward to ensuring stability, development, and human dignity for all. #JournalismIsNotAcrime #FreeCyuma #RwandaIsKilling #Africa #KagameMustGo @FT @guardian @SkyNews @BBCAfrica @VOAAfrica @EU_Commission @EUCouncil @_AfricanUnion @UN @SADC_News @UrugwiroVillage @Presidence_RDC @GeneralNeva @kayikwambaT @RDCongoMAE @PatrickMuyaya @landrysibo @NLinRwanda @StateDept @marcorubio @USAmbUN @USAmbRwanda @ambafrancerwa @UKinRwanda @GermanyinRwanda @CanadainRwanda @SwedeninRW @UNRwanda @EUinRW @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @BotengaM @ElsVanHoofcdenv @Smith_JeffreyT @geoffreyyork @GerardAraud @ThierryMARIANI @GieGoris @KemiBadenoch @idrissaberkane @joerogan @africaarguments @MarksSimon @palkisu @ClareDalyIRL @elonmusk @LewisMudge
