The original Disability Discrimination Act (1995) anticipated the widespread availability of wheelchair accessible taxis: that's 30 years ago! It's a scandal how it's still so hard to get one across much of the UK.

@HamiltonEuan I didn't mean to imply that you're racist; sorry if it sounded that way. I'm certain you aren't! But the western mindset that sees a foreign country or people, as inherently an enemy (cf the 'yellow peril') sails close to a racist wind. Happy to leave our differences there!🕊️
