I was overstretched during my time, the threats were terrible. It was my last posting, everyone I liked and respected turned against me. They will use you till you drop. I took a whole week off and damned the consequence. The profession is highly oppressive, any doctor that can get out early should just do it before investing more years and gets stuck. Everyone is on edge, especially with the staff shortage. May his soul rest in peace 🙏
Sounds easy to say The guy was a houseofficer if he didn't show up. He will be threatened with queries , extensions and he would have to beg to sign his mdcn forms. I clearly understand why he would still show up to work. RIP Dr Madu

The law of demand and supply is key here. You need your money to get what you need (not just want). She may want to be with you, but definitely not need to, so she doesn’t have to spend on you, except she wants to. Moreover, she has what is generally and naturally sort after - the reason you are willing to spend, which is enough to leverage for the transaction 🤷♂️
