@cbsturdy @AaronBlaisdell Nice! Go spider!! Yes, they DO bite (not sting). Hey @RandolphGrace @MathSpatCog - this is what I was talking about the other day. The spider won. 😊

Helpis minitabunda courtship! The male and female look quite different - they are sometimes mistaken for being different species #Arachtober

I found this photo of Phidippus regius, which I took when I visited Florida last year. I love how fuzzy and regal they are! 🕷 #Arachtober #LoveSpiders

Happy #Arachtober! It's my first Arachtober photo of the year, and I thought I'd start by sharing this little Portia labiata. These little buddies get up to all sorts of tricks to capture their favourite prey (other spiders) #LoveSpiders

@CassieRMartin @cdellamore I probably do react to that word more than the typical person. I've spent my whole career having to convince people I'm a scientist ("You don't look like a scientist", etc). And when people find out I'm at a University, they ask me what I study, as though I'm a student

@cdellamore I definitely prefer "research", or "work". I often have a hard time helping people to realise that I'm no longer a student, so I do find it frustrating when people say that I "study spiders" 🕷
