unrelated but any time someone mentions lavender brown i can only think of how she was played by a black actress when she was a background character, but was replaced with a white actress once she became a love interest 😭
hey btw, JK Rowling has always had a weird thing about women who don't fit her specific standards of womanhood. lavender brown gets broken up with by ron and eaten by a werewolf because she's too girly and clingy
take a look at how lavender is portrayed (overly "girly" and fluttery and clingy) and then how rowling treats women of color (ex: imane khelif) as if they aren't or can't be "feminine" enough....
interesting discussion!
we need a female Doctor who wears feminine clothes and does feminine things to make people go insane like imagine the Doctor in dresses and heels YUPPP its a need sorry
at what point in a relationship do you tell them "oh so actually i have this obsession with this tv show from 1963 that completely takes over everything else in my brain"
conservative dr who fans are so funny saying stuff like "the doctor would be disgusted at your pronouns!!" "the doctor would never talk about social justice issues" "the doctor would never be against someone for their political opinion" like WHO are you TALKING about
sorry to bring this up again but:
this is exactly why fugitive doctor's tardis being a police box just WORKS- its about the impact and instant reveal.
we would get it bc we're nerds but a majority of people would not understand what's happening if she dug up a gray cylinder 😭
the people arguing that the clothes shouldn’t disappear instead of just enjoying a cool reveal… we need to re-teach society how to do suspension of disbelief because people shouldn’t be overthinking movies like this. “but why” because it looks cool, that’s why.
btw are we gonna talk about how the doctor just vaporized harriet with the tardis???
like she was conscious (as she was tearing up while being under sutekh’s control) and the doctor just vaporized her like that lol?!!
😭😭😭😭😭
#doctorwho
like this man LOVES himself and somehow doesn’t see the glaring irony of having such a white creative team for the first black doctor and then smugly asking “if you didn’t pick up on the characters all being white, why not??”
like look in the mirror pal
@Liteset13
Danny Pink is the worst character ever on Doctor Who. Kind of hard for someone to achieve that on a show that has Hitler in one of the episodes.
WHY WAS THERE A SIX MONTH TIME SKIP I DONT UNDERSTAND 😭😭😭😭😭😭 how tf are we supposed to connect with these characters if we dont.. see them grow?? 😭😭 i dont get it
just thought about Empire of Death and got pissed off all over again bc wdym the literal god of all gods got confused by not being able to see a girl's face??? 😭 and the reason why we couldnt see her face is because... we.. wanted...to see her face......????
You cannot save her. She will always die. You cannot save her. She will always die. You cannot save her. She will always die. You cannot save her. She will always die, but i have to try.
i think i have finally come to terms with the fact that rtd and i share VERY VERY different opinions on what doctor who is about and what it should be like 😭
@Tigfore
Because 2005 is when it got good.
They know that most of classic who is unrepentant garbage that most people cannot be bothered to sit through, especially when almost all of the good episodes have a title that ends with "of the daleks"
seeing people compare 73 yards to midnight 😭 midnight did the ambiguity thing WELL!!
imagine if midnight was the same except we randomly find out that the entity was the doctor all along 💀 you'd probably have questions, right???
It's weird to think that whilst David Tennant is incredibly popular with the general public who see him as the face of Doctor Who, he's massively underrated and, quite frankly, disrespected in the Doctor Who fan community.
Considering how much he has done for us, makes me sad.
