Last year, $9B of the $35B that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) granted for research was used for administrative overhead, what is known as “indirect costs.” Today, NIH lowered the maximum indirect cost rate research institutions can charge the government to 15%, above what many major foundations allow and much lower than the 60%+ that some institutions charge the government today. This change will save more than $4B a year effective immediately.

lol. then ultras kill, bring you back to life, just to kill again
Running marathons kills. It might be a literal death like the first Athenian runner. For many, it kills the voices inside their head. Kills the demons. For me, it killed my joints, gut health, my relationships, and overall zest for life. But it always kills.

@B_Holmer Define talent. Several elements required to go sub-3 could easily qualify as “talent”.

Do you suggest a meat thermometer through the diaphragm, doc?
Electric fans did not reduce RECTAL temperature. If you think a fan will reduce your rectal temperature, then your head is up your ass. I absolutely do not understand what makes it into journals anymore. This study is stupid. Ht @AnilMakam

@hubermanlab Any RCTs on this premise? I am thinking that the (positive) effects of early sunlight and (negative) effects of night light exposure would no be enough of a hammer to detect meaningful physiological/clinical outcomes. Also, what would those outcomes even be? 🤔
